The United Kingdom video game physical sales chart for March has just been released to the public, and of all the main console manufacturers,Nintendoprobably has the most to be happy about this month.

The charts cover all of March through the week ending on April 3rd. The chart also only covers physical game sales, so digital downloads aren’t included, which can influence the numbers for titles that receive more digital than physical sales. Which means that the charts largely cover titles fromNintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, while the PC games market, which is largely controlled by the digital platform Steam, isn’t as heavily represented.

Nintendo is absolutely dominating last month’s UK sales chart. Of the the 10 titles on the list, seven are Switch exclusives. The Nintendo titles on the list areAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury,Monster Hunter Rise,Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,Ring Fit Adventure,Super Mario 3D All-Stars, andMinecraft for Nintendo Switch. Of the non-Nintendo games on the list, the absolute best seller in the UK wasFIFA 2021, whileOutridersandAssassins Creed Valhallatook sixth and ninth place, respectively. Just barely off the chart isCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which managed to eek out the 11th place spot in the country.Super Mario 3D All-Starssales were likely driven by people wanting to pick up the gamebefore Nintendo delisted it on March 31st.

Nintendo games selling well isn’t too surprising, sinceNintendo has been selling a ton of Switches in Europe, and people will need games for them. Microsoft and Sony having just moved on to new hardware means those companies have a slightly smaller range of new titles, compared to the Switch which has a stronger library.

Nintendo has been doing well since the pandemic began last year. The Switch’s portability, and selection of lighthearted games have likely made it more popular as people are stuck inside. It sold over1 million copies ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsin Germanylast year, and exceeded expectations in other European markets, as well.

Nintendo is doing well now, but it will need to keep the momentum up if it wants to stay ahead. One was would be to expand to new markets.Nintendo is already doing well in China, but it’s a big market, and is still heavily dominated by PC and mobile gaming. Nintendo still has a lot of room to grow in that country.
