As part of an ongoing video series, Pocket Pair has detailed aPalworld"Pal" named Relaxaurus, which calls to mind Lapras and Snorlax from thePokemonfranchise.Palworld’s similarities to thePokemonseries is no accident. The game has repeatedly been described asPokemonwith guns, with players navigating a large open world filled with fantastical creatures that have many similarities to existing Pokemon.
One big way thatPalworlddiffers fromPokemon, besides the use of guns, is that it features survival game elements. This could be an interesting twist on the monster collecting formula, but time will tell howPalworldstacks up compared to the franchise that inspired it. The Pals that players can collect in the game have special abilities that players can take utilize to help survive in the game world, with the latest Pal shown off being the aforementioned Relaxaurus.

The latest Paldeck video shows Relaxaurus in action, with the player character utilizing their fire-type Foxparks and electric-type Univolt creatures to fight the water-type Relaxaurus. With the help of some guns, the player character ultimately defeats Relaxaurus and adds them to their collection. The creature seems to have Snorlax’s “lazy” personality, but with a design thatseems more like Lapras.
After the Relaxaurus is captured, the video showed the player character putting them to good use. Rockets are mounted on the creature’s shoulders and used to absolutely decimate a group of chicken-like Pals called Chickegg. And then Relaxaurus' water powers are used to water crops at the player’s base camp. In the background, viewers can seeFoxsparks and Univoltdoing chores as well, with Foxparks lighting the fire for the cooking pot and Univolt powering a battery.
The video ends with a preview of anotherPalworldPal creaturethat players will get to see in the next Paldeck update. Named Jolthog, this Pal seems to be another electric-type. It kind of looks likePokemon’s Shaymin but with spiky quills and a different color scheme. Players will get to learn more about Jolthog in the next Paldeck update, but they won’t be able to come face to face with the creature themselves until early next year.
