It signifies that one is an elite ninja, and that they are strong enough and capable leaders of the next generation of Naruto. The Jonin possess strength that puts them on an entirely different level when compared to the likes of the Chunin. In the world of Naruto, Kishimoto has introduced fans to quite a lot of spectacular Jonin. However, unfortunately, some did not receive as much attention, despite being powerful Jonin. As a result, these Jonin often go under the radar, and need highlighting. While this list already goes over the strongest Jonin that fans have seen in the Naruto series over the years, we have now added to this list the Jonin who, despite being strong, did not get much attention. With that said, this list has now been updated.
24Ao
A Jonin From Kirigakure
Ao was introduced to the fans first during the Five Kage Summit arc. Later on, Ao became important to the story even further. Ao was certainly one of the strongest sensors in the Fourth Great Ninja War, and he helped the alliance greatly.
His strength was absolutely mesmerizing, and fans did not get to see quite a lot of him in combat in the war. Despite being quite powerful,he ended up dying in the 4th Great Ninja War. As unfortunate as that was, it was later revealed in the story that he was saved at the brink of death, and from there onwards, he ended up following the path of a villain, which was quite annoying for a lot of the fans. In the Boruto era, he showcased his incredible might, as well as his mastery over Scientific Ninja Tools.

23Hiashi and Hizashi Hyuga
Konoha’s Elite Combatants
One of the most iconic sibling duos in the Naruto series, Hiashi and his brother Hizashi were incredibly important on various occasions in the story, especially when it came to avoiding war on many occasions.
Regardless, when Hiashi and Hizashi served Konoha, they did it with pride, and made sure that they could protect the village and, at the same time, take on dangerous tasks.

22Moegi Kazamatsuri
A Strong Wood Release User
Moegi is a very beloved character that fans remember from the early parts of theNarutoseries. Naturally, she was always aiming to be a powerful ninja herself.
Eventually, Moegi ended up becoming a powerful Jonin, and in the era of Boruto, she showcased what she was truly capable of. As a fighter, Moegi is known to be strong enough to use both Earth and Water Release. Furthermore, she also possesses the Kekkei Genkai of Wood Release, however, exactly how she gained it isn’t known. What fans do know for sure is that Moegi is an incredibly powerful individual, who, hopefully, will get her moments of shine in the Boruto series.

21Yamato
A User of Wood Release
A former member of the ANBU, Yamato was introduced in the second half of the Naruto series as a replacement for Kakashi. As a Jonin, it goes without saying that he was quite impressive.
Yamato could use Wood Release – a Jutsu unique to the First Hokage. By using this power, he could make trees and other vegetation sprout from any terrain and, more importantly, control the Nine-Tails. While not the strongest, Yamato was certainly very impressive.

20Shikamaru
Konoha’s Genius
Fans saw Shikamaru start his ninja journey from the very bottom. By the end of the series into the Boruto era, Shikamaru had become a Jonin.
While not physically the strongest, his IQ is immense, making him one of the smartest people in the entire world. He also has Jutsu that allows him to manipulate shadows and that certainly makes him quite a threat to anyone.

19Asuma Sarutobi
The Team Leaderof Team 10
Asuma was introduced to the fans in the early parts ofNaruto. As the team leader of Team 10, Asuma was quite capable, especially with his Wind Release nature transformation. Being the son of the Third Hokage, he had great expectations thrust on him, however, he never lived up to them.
Despite everything, he was a decent ninja at the very least. As a Jonin, he could certainly fight against powerful ninjas, however, S-Ranked ninjas were beyond his capabilities, as was made clear when he fought against Hidan.

18Juzo Biwa
A Jonin Worthy Of Akatsuki
Juzo was once known to be a member of the Akatsuki. This already places him on an S Rank list.
Juzo was incredibly powerful, and although the fans did not actually get to see him during his Jonin days, when he joined the Akatsuki, he was easily one of the strongest members of this group that the fans had seen.

17Kankuro
Sunagakure’s Finest Puppeteer
Known to be quite a skilled individual when it comes to ninjutsu, especially with puppets, Kankuro was an excellent Jonin of his village. He was already quite strong at the beginning ofNarutoPart 2.
However, in the war arc, he got even stronger as he acquired Sasori, and became one of the strongest characters. After the blank period, It can be said that Kankuro is one of the very strongest Jonin in the world.

16Konohamaru Sarutobi
Konoha’s Elite Jonin
Konohamaru has always been a heartwarming character among the fans, ever since the very first few episodes in chapters ofNaruto. What makes him extra special is the fact that fans were able to witness his growth in front of their eyes. By adulthood, Konohamaru had achieved quite a lot.
In fact, he even became a Jonin, believed to be one of the village’s very strongest. Still, while he is a powerful Jonin, it isn’t enough to see him become a Kage. For that, he has to train even harder, and, ultimately, reach unprecedented levels of power as well as gain a lot of wisdom.

15Mangetsu Hozuki
A Member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist
One of the strongest members of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, Mangetsu was always known to be quite powerful. In fact, he was the only member of this group who could build every single sword to perfection.
Fans barely saw him in action in the Fourth Great Ninja War, however, the reputation that he had made for himself over the years spoke for itself. Mangetsu was a very powerful Jonin who certainly deserves plaudits for surviving in the era of the Blood Mist.
