The segment begins with the question that many fans have asked since the series was announced, about how it is going to be different from other MCU content. Fletcher, who plays the role of Nakia Bahadir inMs. Marvel, reveals that it is the first coming of age story in the MCU shows, which isn’t wrong, whereas Vellani further reiterates how it is about a teenager and her love for the Avengers. It was important for the series to representtrue teenage and fan culture, all while sticking with the plot of a teenage girl who has superpowers and lives in a world where “the Avengers are real.”
Shaikh was most excited to see fan reactions toMs. Marvelepisode 3, the one where his character gets married. The episode features a dance sequence, which Kapur claims to have been traumatized by. When he was told by the creators that he would have to dance, his response was, “no, it’s not in my contract.” Speaking of Shaikh, most of the cast members agree that he was the funniest on set, followed closely by Lintz and his unintentional jokes.
Putting on the superhero suit for the first time is always a special moment for the actors, and it wasn’t any different for Vellani as she tried onthe Ms. Marvel costume. “I felt really cool,” she reveals, but quickly follows with, “and then immediately I had to pee, and I needed help.” That last bit isn’t much different from other actors’ experiences either, as many of them have complained that it isn’t the easiest outfit to wear for long periods of time. Towards the end of theAsk Marvelsegment, theMs. Marvelstars all talk about their respective characters and what makes them special in their eyes. Vellani believes that they were able to find the perfect balance “between the action, coming of age, the religion, and the fan culture.”
