Nitara makes her firstMortal Kombatappearance in Deadly Alliance, where she gets entangled with the schemes ofMortal Kombatvillains Quan Chi and Shang Tsung to rule all the Realms. Despite her stereotypical appearance, the vampire Nitara remains on the side of good. And her alignment doesn’t make her a pushover, either.

At the hands of the right player, Nitara can dish out lethal Fatalities and Brutalities that fit her vampiric nature. And long-time fans of the series will appreciate some of Nitara’s flashiest and bloodiest special moves – perhaps more so compared to hermore popular counterparts.
9Blood Spit (Deadly Alliance)
Move List: Forward, Back, 2
Nitara brings herstrong attachment to bloodin her first appearance inMortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Among her signature moves isBlood Spit, a Special Move that will have her spit acidic blood to her enemy. At its core, Blood Spit remains an ever-reliable ranged attack that can help Nitara get on the offensive from a distance. Given that not all Kombatants have projectile attacks, this is a nifty asset in Nitara’s move set.
Unfortunately for Nitara, the first incarnation of Blood Spit isn’t as potent as expected. Despite being a fast-paced projectile, it’s at best a poking ability to taunt enemies into attacking.

8Unicorn Kick (Deadly Alliance)
Move List: Back, Down, 4
Nitara boasts the nimble enhancements of vampirism with her agile move set. This is highlighted withUnicorn Kick, a signature move that works great as an accessible and fierce combo. At its core, Unicorn Kick is a deadly spin kick with a hard finish - perfect for finishing combos.
Unfortunately for Unicorn Kick, its quick yet powerful animation doesn’t bring as much damage as expected. It’s recommended for players not to rely on Unicorn Kick as an attack on its own but rather as something paired with other attacks.

7Blood Spit (Armageddon)
Move List: Down, Back, 2
Nitara returns with other Kombatantsin the all-stakes final showdownofMortal Kombat: Armageddon. As such, it makes sense for Nitara’s return to mark the resurgence of her signature moves as well. These include Special Moves such as herBlood Spit, which receives an upgrade to become a staple in her move set.
At its core, Blood Spit retains its move combination for execution. However, the move gets a substantial upgrade compared to itsDeadly Alliancecounterpart. For instance, Blood Spit now has a Jumping Blood Spit (Down, Up, 2) variant - perfect for attacking from above.

6Vampire (Tournament Edition)
Move List: Up, Forward, 2
Nitarareturns as a playable characterinMortal Kombat: Tournament Edition, one of two Game Boy Advance ports ofDeadly Alliance. Given its simpler graphics and processing power, Nitara also possesses a simpler move set. Her Fatality,Vampire, in particular, is a more straightforward iteration of her iconic Fatality.

InTournament Edition, executing Vampire will have Nitara climb atop an enemy and bite their neck horribly. She will then leap away to finally kill her foe. Unfortunately, unlike other finishing moves, Vampire seems a bit lackluster compared to other Fatalities in the game.
5Blood Thirst (Armageddon)
Move List: Throw
Aside from a massive roster,Armageddonalso poised revamped animations for most combat maneuvers. These include basic attacks such as Throws, which are often unique per character. In the case of Nitara, her Throw comes in the form ofBlood Thirst.
When triggered, Blood Thirst will have Nitara climb atop an enemy and quickly bite their neck. Afterward, she jumps off while kicking them - forcing enemies to step backward. Unlike other Throws, Nitara’s Blood Thirst is primarily a means to distance from foes. This is a great introduction to her Blood Spit, or to create space in general. As fans might notice, Blood Thirst also looks like a more graphically improved version of VampirefromTournament Edition.

4Weapon Fatality (Tournament Edition)
Move List: Down, Down, 2
Despite the lower graphics ofTournament Edition, characters do come withunique sets of weapons. Since Nitara boasts her mastery over the Kama (a Japanese farming implement similar to the sickle), she also brings this with her inTournament Edition.
Interestingly enough, Nitara does possess herWeapon Fatalitywhen using these weapons. As expected of a Weapon Fatality, Nitara’s finisher with her Kama involves multiple slashes that slowly tear apart the enemy. Given the lower graphics of the said edition, it’s a nice change of pace to see a Weapon Fatality so vividly shown.

3Unicorn Kick (Armageddon)
As expected fromArmageddon, Special Moves from Nitara such asUnicorn Kickreturned with her as well. Sporting the same combination, players can have an updated version of Unicorn Kick fromDeadly Alliance.

However, while Unicorn Kick does sport the same animation, it’s different on a mechanical level. There’s a bigger oomph and a more solid “kick” in the move’s finisher. Moreover, a properly executed Unicorn Kick dishes out much more damage compared to its previous counterpart. These variations make the new Unicorn Kick a much more solid choice as a combo finisher or an interrupt.
2Quick Escape (Armageddon)
Move List: Forward, Back, 3
Unlike other Special Moves, Nitara inArmageddonalso possesses a mobility maneuver. Coming in the form ofQuick Escape, Nitara can use this Special Move to get out of sticky situations quickly.
When used, Quick Escape will have Nitara fly backward very quickly. Despite its trivial animation, the sheer movement speed this offers allows Nitara to escape very dangerous encounters. Given the trajectory, Quick Escape can help Nitara capitalize on blank frames during attacks or even fly away from projectiles.

1Feast Of Blood (Deadly Alliance)
Move List: Up, Up, Forward, 1
If Nitara would have one move to make her most iconic, it would probably beFeast of BloodfromDeadly Alliance. This Fatality remains her original and most recognizable finishing move. Moreover, this move is also the closestwhen it comes to her themeof exploring blood and vampirism.
When pulled off, Nitara latches onto her opponent and bites into their neck. Unlike similar moves such as Vampire, Feast of Blood will have Nitara stay and bite the flesh off her foes a couple of times. Once done, she jumps off them and leaves them to their deaths.
