MultiVersusis one of the latest platformer crossover fighting games, containing a roster of incredibly iconic and diverse characters that are under the Warner Bros. umbrella. This includes the likes ofTom and Jerry,Looney Tunes,DC Comics, andSteven Universein its launch roster, with more even coming down the line. Some characters coming in the future areLeBron James in his appearance fromSpace Jam 2, along with Rick and Morty from the titular show later in August as part of the game’s first season of content. There are still quite a number of characters that have yet to be added, including those from an iconic video game IP under Warner Bros.,Mortal Kombat.
Many fans believe that with so many Warner Bros.-owned IPs in the game, it would make sense to also seeMortal Kombatmake its way into the crossover fighter. Despite its graphic and bloody content, some fans may find it a hilarious contrast seeingScorpion getting taken out by Ultra Instinct Shaggy, or vice-versa. The iconic yellow and blue ninjas Scorpion and Sub-Zero are heavily requested additions, but one fan shows off a mockup of whatMortal Kombat’s princess of Edenia Kitana would look like inMultiVersus.

This piece of fan art was created by Fezat on Twitter, which showed off Kitana being redesigned to fit the aesthetics ofMultiVersus. The design seems to borrow heavily fromMortal Kombat 11, evidenced by her hair bun and armor. The piece of art was also captioned with the request to add her to the roster of the game, where they even taggedMortal Kombatco-creator Ed Boon and the game’s director Tony Huynh, who responded in kind.
Huynh complimented the piece of artwork, stating that it even looks great. This mirrored the sentiment of other fans who saw it, noting that it looked incredibly accurate to the game’s art style, and it would be a fitting pick. Huynh however states that there are “no promises” thatPrincess Kitanawill make it into the game. Despite it catching the attention of one of the directors on the project it doesn’t guarantee that the character will be added in the future.
As of this writing, there are no confirmedMortal Kombatcharactersin the free-to-play crossover fighter, with leaks and rumors from others stating that both Sub-Zero and Scorpion are likely coming toMultiVersus. Some fans find it’d be a missed opportunity ifMortal Kombatdidn’t get any representation in the game, but players will just have to wait and see if any futureMultiVersuscontent will feature them.
MultiVersusis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
