Summary
AMortal Kombat 1voice actor might have let it slip that the dreaded T-1000 fromTerminatorcould be a future DLC character. This year’s fighting game blockbuster is already packed with several legendaryMortal Kombatcharacters, and NetherRealm has confirmed thatMortal Kombat 1will get DLC packs filled with new warriors to battle as in the game. TheseMortal Kombat 1DLC packswill also continue a tradition started in 2011’sMortal Kombat 9: guest fighters.
From infamous slasher villains like Jason Voorhees and Leatherface to comic book icons like Spawn and the Joker, the past fewMortal Kombatentries have allowed players to pit the likes of Liu Kang and Scorpion against famed figures from comics and movies.Mortal Kombat 1will addInvincible’s Omni-Manto this list of special guest combatants in November, and the rest of Kombat Pack 1 will include Peacemaker and Homelander fromThe Boys. Additionally, rumors have hinted at other characters like Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, and Doomslayer joiningMortal Kombat 1later on.
Now another beloved character could be thrown into the list of possibleMortal Kombat 1guest characters thanks to a possible slip-of-tongue from Andrew Morgado, the voice ofMK 1’s more heroic and sympathetic Reptile. He recently spoke with Dan Allen Gaming about his time recording lines with guest stars like Ronda Rousey (whoplayed Sonya Blade inMortal Kombat 11), and during this he mentions that Robert Patrick was also present. For the uninitiated, Patrick famously played the T-1000 Terminator inTerminator 2: Judgment Day, leading fans like Reddit user Randomclownman to wonder if Morgado accidentally leaked a new DLC character forMortal Kombat 1.
Of course, Andrew Morgado could have been referring to the original T-800 Terminator fromMortal Kombat 11, as he also mentions Ronda Rousey andRoboCop actor Peter Weller(who also appeared as a guest DLC fighter) in the same breath. However, he specifically names Robert Patrick rather than Chris Cox (the actor who filled in for Arnold Schwarzenegger inMortal Kombat 11), and he also acknowledges the T-800’s guest appearance as something separate. It’s possible that the T-1000 was originally meant to be added inMortal Kombat 11’s rumored third DLC pack rather than an upcomingMortal Kombat 1expansion, but that’s just speculation at this time.
On the other hand, recently datamined voice lines for confirmedMortal Kombat 1DLC guest character Peacemaker supposedly reference his father, who was also played by Robert Patrick in the live-actionPeacemakerseries. This, plus Andrew Morgado’s recent comments, seems to suggest that the shapeshifting T-1000 Terminator could appear inMortal Kombat 1to change the future and eliminate anyone who stands in his way in a future DLC offering. However, no DLC characters have been announced by NetherRelam beyond the upcoming Kombat Pack 1.
Mortal Kombat 1is available now on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
