Summary

AMinecraftplayer has designed a terrifying new version of the Ghast mob, an already scary enemy for gamers exploring the Nether. Many mobs in theMinecraftNether may give players pause, but this adjustment to the Ghast could make the biome even scarier.

The Nether wasn’t available toMinecraftplayers who joined during the early alpha testing phase, but it was added in an update before the game’s official release. In the Nether, players may run intoMinecraftPiglins, Hoglins, Blazes, Striders, and typical overworld enemies like Skeletons and Endermen. Although the Nether is a dangerous biome, players may explore it for helpful materials. Another reason to enter the Nether is for players to reach The End biome eventually, and beat the final boss of the game, the Ender Dragon. One gamer has an idea to make the Nether even less enticing to explore by revamping the appearance of the Ghast.

Reddit user TastyDeer1131 recently shared two images of theirMinecraftGhast fan art that swaps its whimsical design for one of nightmares. The Ghast normally resembles a pale version of a player-character head floating through the Nether with squid-like tentacles protruding from its underside. This gamer’s Ghast is instead akin to a massive white flea, with six dangling legs and two intimidating fangs. Its legs appear hairy, with small brown blocks accenting the tips of its legs. Unlike the lifeless face oftheMinecraftGhast, this one is more menacing, with thicker eyes and a red mouth that extends almost entirely up its face. The second image of this Ghast depicts the other side of the creature to highlight that its massive body conceals its head when it faces away from the player.

How Would This Altered Mob Behave in Minecraft?

As this version of the Ghast still has dangling limbs, it would likely float aroundMinecraft’s Nethersimilar to its existing model. Ghasts are known to pursue players in the Nether, and this model could make that experience even worse if it were added to the game. With Ghasts typically using a ranged attack to defeat gamers, it rarely lands on the Nether floor and when it does, it usually clips through the surface. Because of this, it’s unlikely that this iteration would use its fangs. The current Ghast has limbs that sway in the opposite direction of their movement, which could be applied to this fan creation to make it even more disturbing.

TastyDeer1131 has indicated that they’re redesigning all the mobs which may hint that this is for a bigger project like a mod. AsmanyMinecraftmodsalready change the aesthetics of the game, this Ghast model could be implemented in a downloadable pack.
