Minecrafthas provided gamers everywhere with a massive sandbox to explore, survive, and build in for over a decade. Players have put together a wide variety of fantastic creations in the game’s blocky world over the years. Now, oneMinecraftplayer gets meta by building a replica of the Nintendo Switch console in-game.
The video game industry is filled with iconic titles, but few have the popularity and staying power ofMinecraft. Despite its simple graphics and advancing age, the game is still beloved by many andMinecraftstreamers still have a lot of power. One of the biggest appeals ofMinecraftis the sheer freedom it offers players, especially those who enjoy working on construction projects one block at a time.

Redditor Enixor123 recently shared a screenshot showing off their surprisingly meta creation–a Nintendo Switch console built entirely within the world ofMinecraft. The construction takes the form of a Switch in either handheld or tabletop mode, apparently balancing on its edge. A grassy plain sprawls out beneath it and shows through the transparent “screen” section, which appears to be built fromglass blocks or panes. The Switch recreation also features two attached joy-cons, one in dark blue and one in dark red.
This is far from the first elaborate constructionMinecraftfans have built in-game, but it’s certainly one of the most accurate. Each joy-con has been lovingly rendered in blocks, complete with arrow keys, joysticks, and carefully-constructed connectors to the main Switch console. Like a real Switch, the screen is rimmed with black, and it appears that the virtual console even has a sense of depth. SomeMinecraftcreations are entirely 2D with shading to give them the illusion of three dimensions, but Enixor123’s creation seems to be thicker than that. Both the construct’s shadow and the rim of black showing through the transparent screen suggest that it is about as thick as a real-life Switch console.
Several users recommended that they next create gameplay maps or faux screenshots. If these images could be placed behind or inside the Switch screen, it would look like the Switch was running a game. Two more users suggested that Enixor123 get in contact withMinecraftredstone creators to make the virtual Switch functional. This wouldn’t be the first timeMinecraftplayers tried to make othergames playable inside ofMinecraft, after all.
