Minecrafthas a nice variety of items players can find in the wild, and flowers are just one of the many plants available in the game. Flowers come in a multitude of kinds and colors, and they even have a few biomes such as the flower forest, where they tend to spawn in greater abundance than anywhere else.

Though they’re pretty to look at, most players might walk past flowers inMinecraftand not think of grabbing them for later use. Flowers, like most other items in Minecraft, do actually have their own unique uses, which players shouldn’t ignore. Here are some of the best ways to use up any flowers in Minecraft the player may have gathered.
6Spawn Bee Hives
Bees are a flying mob type that’s passive by default, and their nests can be harvestedfor honey and honeycomb. If players are looking to make an easy honey farm, but can’t seem to find bee nests anywhere nearby, they can increase the chances of one spawning on new trees they plant.
Gather a bunch of flowers and plant them around tree saplings. Keep in mind that these need to be oak and birch saplings only, as bee hives don’t spawn on any other tree type. The proximity of flowers will increase the chances of a bee hive spawning on these trees while the sapling grows. Plus, having these flowers near the bee hives will yield the player more honey as the bee start to pollinate.

5Turn Them Into Dye
Dyes are a fun way inMinecraftto turn certain blocks and items to the desired color. Not only do they work on banners, which let players place markers on maps and decorate their home, but they can also be used on various other blocks like white wool and glass blocks to create colored wool and stained glass.

The process is pretty simple. Players only need togather the flowers of the color they desire, place the flower into the crafting grid and they will get the dye in question. If players have access to limited flower types, they can also mix certain dyes to get lighter colors. For example, mixing white dye from bone meal with red dye from roses will yield pink dye.
4Decorate A Minecraft Home
The variety of flowers inMinecraftmeans that players have a bunch of different shapes, sizes, and colors to choose from. They can be a great wayto spice up a buildthat might need a natural touch.
Flowers can be planted freely anywhere, and they can also be grown by using bone meal on a grass block. Keep in mind that doing so will also grow tall grass, and the results are often biome-dependent. Finally, a classic way isto craft a clay potand place a flower into it by right-clicking on it after setting it down.

3Fill Up A Composter For Bone Meal
Bone meal can be a real lifesaver early on in aMinecraftsurvival run. It can be used to quickly grow wheat, carrots, potatoes, and a bunch of other plants for the player’s needs if they’re in a pinch for resources. However, actually getting bone mealis a whole different story, especially if the player doesn’t feel ready to fight hordes of skeletons.
Instead of risking their lives, players can craft a composter and start filling it up with any flowers they find in the wild. This will slowly raise the composter’s level until it’s full and it can be harvested for some bone meal. It might not be the most efficient way of doing things, but it’s a nice trick to know in a pinch.

2Cook A Suspicious Stew
Flowers can’t be eaten as is, but theycan be cooked into a Suspicious Stew, which is also something players might come across when looting shipwrecks underwater. Suspicious Stews can be crafted with a variety of status effects, depending on which flower the player uses to make it.

The stew requires a wooden bowl, a brown and red mushroom, as well as the flower of the player’s choice. Most of these effects only last for a few seconds, so they’re not a replacement for potion brewing, but rather a fun short-lived effect. Here’s what players can expect from each flower that can be added in:
1Feed Them To Rabbits
Lookingto make a rabbit farm? In that case, players will need to gather some flowers. In particular, they will need a bunch of dandelions, as these are the flowers that the elusive rabbits can be tempted with and bred with. They can also be used to grow rabbits, similar to other mobs that can be bred.
While rabbits don’t make for a good source of food and rabbit hide isn’t particularly useful, rabbit’s feet are a rare drop that can be used to make Potions of Leaping to increase the player’s jumping height.
