Due to the non-linear nature of exploration inMetroid Dread, players will be passing through the game’s Cataris region on multiple occasions. With each new ability and piece of equipment they unlock, more and more of the area becomes accessible to them, and this is also true of its many hidden missile, energy and Power Bomb tanks.

There are 21 of them in total, the majority of which are designed to expand Samus' maximum missile capacity. Players can increase it by 38, while also gaining an additional one and a half tanks of energy and increasing the number of Power Bombs that Samus can carry by three. With the exception ofMetroid Dread’s first region,Artaria, nowhere on planet ZDR can offer more.

Every Energy Tank in Cataris

Energy Tank #1 (Energy Part)

Players will be able to get their hands on the first Energy Tank after draining the lava from the surrounding room.

Energy Tank #2

To reach the second Energy Tank, players will need to have acquired the Spider Magnet. Once they have it, they can lower the moving platform by hanging from the blue strip on the right side of it and then loop back round to the area with the mechanism they used to lower the lava to collect the tank.

Energy Tank #3 (Energy Part)

The final energy tank in Cataris is in the south of the region and can only be accessed once players have unlocked the Power Bomb. They’ll need to destroy a block to open a tunnel and should then run through it as fast as they can. Upon reaching the next screen, they’ll need to flick the left analog stick down and then walk into the gap beneath the nextMorph Balltunnel. Once there, they should activate Samus' Shinespark ability and aim directly upwards, which will clear the blocks that are barring access to the tank.

Every Missile Tank in Cataris

Missile Tank #1

Players can find Cataris' first Missile Tank by shooting a hidden block in the bottom right-hand corner of the area in which it’s located.

Missile Tank #2

Players will be able to collect the second Missile Tank in Cataris after obtaining the Morph Ball.

Missile Tank #3 (Missile+)

The region’s third Missile Tank can be found in some Morph Ball tunnels beneath the red Teleporter.

Missile Tank #4

The fourth Missile Tank can be accessed by traveling through a Morph Ball tunnel above a Total Recharge Station.

Missile Tank #5

To get their hands on Cataris' fifth Missile Tank, players will need to hang from the blue Spider Magnet material on the nearby ceiling and then use missiles to destroy a couple of red blocks. Once they’re gone, players will be able to climb into the tunnel and collect the tank.

Missile Tank #6

Once players have the Varia Suit, they’ll finally be able to explore some of Cataris' many hot environments. By hanging off a blue platform and shooting some red organic material, they’ll be able to find the sixth Missile Tank in one of them.

Missile Tank #7

Players will be able to collect the seventh Missile Tank by performing a wall jump in the area shown above.
