A new zombiehorrorcomedy,All You Need Is Blood, directed by Cooper Roberts and starring Mena Suvari, is coming from Yale Entertainment.
Suvari, known for her roles in classic ’90s films likeAmerican BeautyandtheAmerican Piefranchise, will lead a cast that includes Eddie Griffin (Scary Movie 3) and Logan Riley Bruner (Stranger Things).All You Need is Bloodmarks Roberts' first foray into directing a feature-length film after being known for his Grammy-nominated music video work.

PerDeadline,All You Need is Bloodrecently wrapped up shooting in New Jersey. While many details are still under wraps, thehorrorcomedy chronicles what happens when “a 16-year-old aspiring director teams up with his friends to create the ultimate student film after a strange meteor lands in his backyard and turns his deadbeat father into a brain-eating zombie.” Yale Entertainment’s Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman and Jesse Korman are producing. In a statement, Korman expressed his excitement for the film, saying, “It’s a zombie film but I love it because of how much heart it has. At its core, this story has so many meaningful themes it’s exploring, buried under the carnage.”
Across the past two decades, Suvari has further established herself in several recent horror offerings, includingDon’t Tell a Soul,What Lies Below, andThe Accursed. She is also known for her role inAmerican Horror Storyseason oneas one of the 20th century’s most famous murder victims, Elizabeth Short, a.k.a. The Black Dahlia. Suvari’s doe-eyed innocence often pairs well with her horror roles, which will undoubtedly be the case inAll You Need is Blood.
Zombie movies have been enormously popular in recent decades for blending terror and absurdity, beginning with classics likeArmy of Darkness(1993) andShaun of the Dead(2004) and carrying through more recent zombie comedy romps like theZombielandfranchise (2009),Warm Bodies(2013), andAnna and the Apocalypse(2018). A keen blend of humor and zombified gore will likely makeAll You Need is Bloodpopular when it releases. The films often rely on just enough violence and bloodshed to appeal to horror fans, with enough verbal and situational humor to appeal to more general audiences.
