For the first time in Marvel movie history, the future ofSpider-Manon the big screen is unknown. In 2021, the MCU trilogy took a big curtain call with the highly-anticipatedSpider-Man: No Way Home. As a tribute to the movies of Marvel’s most popular hero, the film brought back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to join Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.

However, the ending of that movie seems to be somewhat of a reset, with Holland’s Peter choosing to let everyone forget who he is. It’s been speculated this will set Marvel up to do a much smaller, street-level MCU Spider-Man film sometime in the future. These ten possibilities would be enough to get fans excited to reunite with the new Peter Parker.
10Peter Joins The Daily Bugle
The post-credits scene ofSpider-Man: Far From Homeshocked audiences by re-introducing J.K. Simmons as his beloved character J. Jonah Jameson. This new iteration, inspired by media moguls like Alex Jones, returns inNo Way Homeas a fearmongering Internet reporter trying to prove that Spider-Man is a menace to Manhattan.
However, given that nobody knows who Peter Parker is by the end ofNo Way Home, perhapsPeter will get a job working for Jameson at the Daily Bugle. It would be a welcome return for Simmons in the MCU and would align our Peter with the comic book iteration. After all, who else but Peter will be able to get as good pictures of the web-slinger?
9Teaming Up With Daredevil
No Way Homealso featured the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a role he originated in the NetflixDaredevilseries. In the film, Murdock serves as Peter’s lawyer, though it’s never revealed whether he remembers Peter’s identity by the end of the film. Cox did, however, appear inShe-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law, donning a new Daredevil outfit.

For a future Spider-Man movie with less of an Avengers-level threat, pairing Peter with Matt Murdock would be a wise choice by Marvel. This team-up could be teased in Cox’s upcoming Disney+ series,Daredevil: Born Again. It could even find Peter teaming up with Daredevil to take down Kingpin, who is a frequent Spider-Man enemy in the comics.
8Enter Frank Castle
Of course, the appearance of Matt Murdock may also give way to re-introduce the Punisher in the MCU. Frank Castle made his screen debut in theDaredevilseries played by Jon Bernthal, who reprised his role in a series of his own. Nevertheless, the appearance of the Punisher would make this future Spider-Man moviea more mature entry in the MCU.
It also wouldn’t come without comic book precedent. The vigilante made his first appearance in a Spider-Man comic, hired by the Jackal to kill Spider-Man. Plus, it would be a great opportunity for fans to see Matt Murdock and Frank Castle trade blows again, considering their history from the Netflix shows.
7New Romantic Interests
Fans of the MCU Spider-Man were heartbroken by the end ofNo Way Home, which found Peter’s girlfriend MJ losing her memory of him. Peter, responsibly, leaves it that way as he continues his Spider-Man work in anonymity. Though it may be hard for Peter to move on, there are plenty of other comic book lovers for him to be introduced to now.
The obvious one is Gwen Stacy, who was played by Emma Stone in the Garfield movies. There’s also Kate Bishop, who was introduced inHawkeye, but she may be more of a good ally to Peter than a romantic partner. Many fans have also clamored to seeAnya Taylor-Joy join the MCU as Black Cat, who would also bring a lot of maturity to a future trilogy.
6Spider-Man Gets Hunted
The desperation of the public to know Spider-Man’s true identity may result in more conflict in future Spider-Man movies. It may also result in the introduction of one of the most iconic Spider-Man baddies: Kraven the Hunter. The character was intended to serve as the main villain ofNo Way Homebefore the multiverse-bending idea came to fruition.

Kraven even has his own Sony project coming, where he’ll be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. MCU fans will recognize Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff fromAvengers: Age of Ultron. It’s unlikely Marvel will recruit him to be their main MCU Spider-Man, but perhaps a new actor can play Kraven while Taylor-Johnson remains in the Sony multiverse.
5A Symbiote Left Behind
Speaking of the Sonyverse, Tom Hardy appeared in a post-credits scene ofNo Way Homeas Eddie Brock. Though he didn’t get to interact with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man,he may meet his own alternate web-slinger in a future Venom movie. However, before returning to his universe, a piece of his symbiote was left behind.
This is an obvious tease to introducing a new MCU Venom, one who would pose a great threat to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Some fans may be wary of this plot line, given the poor reception of Venom’s role in the Sam Raimi-directedSpider-Man 3. However, if Venom can be done right, it could be one of the best Spider-Man movies of all time.
4Peter Parker The Mentor
Another good use of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the MCU would be as a mentor to a younger, fresher Spider-Man. This is a similar role that Peter plays in Sony’s wildly-popularSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Versemovie. Like Jamie Foxx says inNo Way Home, it’s about time we’re introduced to a black Spider-Man in the MCU.
Fortunately,the groundwork is already set for Miles Morales. Donald Glover appeared as Aaron Davis inSpider-Man: Homecoming, with a deleted scene alluding to his nephew Miles. It would also be smart of Marvel to bring Glover back, potentially playing the role of the Prowler in a future Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movie.
3A Future Rogues Gallery
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man movie without an impressive lineup of villains.No Way Homedelivered on a long-awaited promise of including the Sinister Six, albeit one short: Lizard, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, and Sandman. There are still plenty of iconic Spider-Man villains who have yet to make a debut on the big screen.

Besides previously mentioned candidates like Kingpin, Venom, Kraven, Jackal, Prowler, and Black Cat, there’s also Scorpion, which could signal the return of Michael Mando as Mac Gargan fromHomecoming. There’s also Chameleon, Mister Negative, and Hobgoblin, who have yet to make appearances outside of comics, cartoons, and video games.
2Rejoining The Avengers
It was a longtime dream of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker to be an official member of the Avengers. After being recruited by Tony Stark inCaptain America: Civil War, he anxiously awaited his call to action, which he later passed up on at the end ofHomecoming. He did, however,get named an honorary Avengerduring the events ofInfinity War.
Hopefully, by the time fans are re-introduced to Holland’s Parker in the MCU, he’s gained more experience and is ready to become a full-fledged Avenger. He would fit in well with a group of heroes that includes Sam Wilson, Kate Bishop, Yelena Belova, She-Hulk, and Ironheart. It would be a great opportunity for Peter to prove he’s learned responsibility.
1Into The Spider-Verse
Of course, there have been plenty of film adaptations of Spider-Verse storylines.Into the Spider-Versewas a huge success, and will be followed up by several confirmed sequels.No Way Homealso proved that combining Spider-Man with the multiverse would translate well on the big screen, but Marvel is far from done with the idea.
WithAvengers: Secret Warson the horizon, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is on the precipice of full multiversal collapse. Obviously, with Spider-Man being one of their most popular characters, Marvel will want to explore how this affects Peter Parker’s life. Perhaps we’ve only seen the start of Spider-Man’s ventures into the multiverse.
