Thor is among the strongest heroes in theMarvel Universe. He is the Norse God of Thunder, son of Odin, and one of the founding members of the Avengers, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. He is also one of the stars ofSquare Enix’sAvengersgame, which came out last year.

Thor is appropriately powerful in the game, but he doesn’t start off that way.Marvel’s Avengers hasa skill tree with unlockable abilities and otherRPGelements. That brings us to the purpose of today’s list, which offers a countdown of the ten skills in theAvengersgame that players should unlock for Thor as soon as possible.
10Hammer Spin
The first move in Thor’s arsenal is the Hammer Spin attack. This should be an unsurprising choice for fans of the God of Thunder. One of Thor’s signature moves in the comics isspinning up his hammer, Mjolnir, before taking off into flight, hurling the hammer at a foe, or simply striking a particularly powerful enemy.
Hammer Spin falls under the light attack skill tree, and Thor actually spins the hammer around him. To use it, the player must simply hold the light attack button to have Thor spin the hammer around himself, striking all enemies close to him.
9Whirling Uru
This is another attack in the light attack skill tree, and it requires Hammer Spin to already have been unlocked. Whirling Uru is a follow-up to Hammer Spin, and it has Thor perform another spinning attack on enemies in the immediate vicinity.
To execute the Whirling Uru attack, the player need simply hold the light attack button again after executing the Hammer Spin attack.
8Mjolnir Cyclone
Mjolnir Cyclone is yet another iteration on the Hammer Spin and Whirling Uru line of upgrades in the light attack skill tree. This skill makes the combo even more powerful by adding another strike to this chain of attacks.

As such, Mjolnir Cyclone requires that Whirling Uru already be unlocked. The player can activate it in a similar manner to Hammer Spin and Whirling Uru. They only need to hold the light attack button upon the completion of the Whirling Uru attack. This will make Thor avital part of any multiplayer party.
7Sledgehammer
The Sledgehammer skill is yet another light attack category. It provides a heavier alternative to Thor’s standard light attack, which the God of Thunder can execute sprinting. Sledgehammer allows Thor to leap forward and deliver a powerful hammer smash onto a foe.
Sledgehammer is important because it gives Thor a potent dashing attack. This allows him to stay aggressive and mobile on the battlefield, qualities every mighty warrior needs.
6Slide Smash
The Slide Smash is yet another light attack upgrade – Thor needs to be able to deliver swift and damaging attacks. This one allows Thor to follow up a dodge with a devastating sweeping attack, which puts enemies into a spin. This stuns them and leaves them vulnerable to further attacks.
This is another skill thatmakes Thor maneuverable and dangerous. Thor should always be able to follow up an action with an attack.
5Sigurd Strike
Sigurd Strike is the first entry in theheavy attack skill tree. This skill is a combo that can be achieved by hitting the heavy attack button, after pressing the light attack button three times. Sigurd Strike delivers a devastating hammer attack that breaks through guards and sends enemies flying.
This is the kind of attack that represents Thor’s fighting style in the comics and movies. He is physically one of the strongest beings in existence, and he uses that as needed when dealing with the forces of evil – even though he tries to avoid killing as much as possible.
4Thunderstruck
Thunderstruck is another heavy attack upgrade, and it requires Sigurd Strike to already be unlocked. To use Thunderstruck, the player must use the Sigurd Strike combo and then press the Odinforce button to imbue the attack with the Odinforce power.
This adds a vast lightning blast to the final attack in the Sigurd Strike combo. This lightning has a large area of effect, so it can damage several foes.
3Bring The Thunder
This skill also falls under the heavy attack umbrella. It empowers Thor’s Storm Striker move with the Odinforce, the powerful ethereal energy that is imbued upon the lord of Asgard. This improved form of Storm Striker also has an increased area of effect, allowing Thor to strike even more foes. To unlock this attack, Thor must be at Hero Level 6.

This isn’t really relevant to the gameplay, but the name “Bring The Thunder,” is also quite wonderful. It makes the attack even more fun to use, especially while yelling the name in a bad Chris Hemsworth impression.
2Divine Chaos
This skill requires that Thor be at Hero Level 8 to unlock, and falls under the intrinsic ability skill tree. To activate Divine Chaos, Thor needs to perform several successive attacks without having his Odinforce gaug full. This overcharges the Odinforce.
When the Odinforce is overchaged, the Divine Chaos skill takes effect, increasing Thor’s power and damage output until he’s hit, countered, or stops attacking for too long. This encourages Thor to be anaggressive part of your multiplayer Strike Team.
1Legacy Of Odinson
Finally, there is the Legacy of the Odinson intrinsic ability skill upgrade. This one doesn’t require any prior abilities to unlock, but it combines well with the Divine Chaos skill.
The Legacy of the Odinson beefs up Thor’s Odinforce state. When the Odinforce gauge is full and active, it allows Thor to regain intrinsic energy when he defeats an enemy. This means that defeating foes keeps his Odinforce mode active longer, so long as Thorcontinues to fell his opponents.
