The celebrations continue for the 30th anniversary of HAL Laboratory’s video game seriesKirby. Now, Japanese toy brand Good Smile Company, which is known for producing avariety of video game figures and toys, has opened preorders for a 30th anniversary edition Nendoroid for the titular pink hero.
HAL Laboratory and Nintendo seem to have prepared a lot of anniversary events and activities forKirby’s 30th year. Not only was the new video game,Kirby and the Forgotten Land, launched this 2022, but fans of the character have been bombarded with merchandise news since the announcement of the celebrations since the start of the year. WithKirbybeing a popular Nintendo character, having well-known Japanese toy brands like Good Smile Company making limited edition figures for it is not surprising.

On the official English account of Good Smile Company, the team announced that preorders have opened for theKirby30th anniversary edition Nendoroid. The figure will come with four face parts, which includes the character’s standard sparkling eyes face, one with swirly eyes, a surprised face, and the last face featuresKirby’s iconic retro look. The Nendoroid set is quite interesting as it combines magnetic parts with the figure line’s standard peg-and-hole system for accessories. The toy’s stand also features theKirby30th anniversary logo, reiterating that it is a special anniversary edition of the Nendoroid.
According to Good Smile Company, theKirbyNendoroid will cost 5,200 yen or roughly $41 USD.Kirbyfans will likely consider this price as affordable, given that the set comes with many cute accessories such as a bindle stick, the iconic Friend Heart, a sweet potato, and even a glittery Star Rod. Preorders open May 31 and will be available until July 14, until stocks last. Though this is not the first time Good Smile Company has produced cuteKirbytoys and merchandise, fans probably have to preorder this item as fast as possible. Being a special 30th anniversary version, it is possible that the Nendoroid may sell out.
With aKirby-themed concert schedule in August, and six months left in 2022, fans of the pink hero will likely still have a good deal of anniversary news to look forward to.
