Summary
Jujutsu Kaiseniscurrently in the Culling Game arcand fans know the story to be very exciting. While it has had ups and downs, the Culling Game is incredibly intense at the moment. Right now, the team of Yuji, Yuta, and Maki are putting in quite a shift against Sukuna, the King of Curses. Now that Kenjaku has been dealt with, the goal here is for everyone to defeat Sukuna and rescue Megumi. With that, the biggest threats to the jujutsu society will be dealt with, and the world will be saved.
Of course, taking down Sukuna isn’t an easy task, and for that reason, every sorcerer in Jujutsu Tech has trained immensely over the course of the last month. They have all gained new abilities, and this is true also in the case of the protagonist, Yuji Itadori.
Yuji’s Reverse Cursed Technique
Yuji has managed to learn quite a few abilities over the course of the last month. One of the most amazing powers that he has managed to pick up would be his reverse cursed technique. Fans no reverse cursed technique to be one of the most complex abilities for any sorcerer to learn. In fact, this ability is so complex that even Gojo struggled to pick it up when he was in Jujutsu High, as was evident in the Hidden Inventory arc. Yet, after a lot of training, likely with all the other sorcerers, Yuji finally managed to pick up this amazing ability.
For those who do not know, reverse cursed technique is, simply put, the opposite of a cursed technique. A Cursed Technique is created from negative energy. However, reverse cursed technique is, as is implied by the name, its complete opposite. As a result, reverse cursed technique is positive in nature. This type of energy can only be created by multiplying negative energy against itself. As a result, the energy produced is positive and this positive energy doesn’t hold the power to destroy. Instead, it can be used for other amazing things, such as healing.
Yuji Itadori successfully managed to learn the ability of reverse cursed technique, and with it, he can heal from quite a lot of dangerous injuries. This ability first manifested when he was fighting against Sukuna, and he did it in quite some style. Even though he took powerful Dismantles from Sukuna, he was able to recover and heal himself to a normal state. This shows a high level of control over reverse cursed technique. Of course, Yuji’s reverse cursed technique is not as advanced as that of Gojo, however, it is still very advanced, to say the least.
Yuji’s Soul Capture
While Reverse Cursed Technique is an incredible ability that Yuji has picked up recently, this isn’t the extent of what he has learned. As has been confirmed in the series recently, he has also refined his abilities to damage souls. Technically, this is not a new ability that Yuji has learned. As fans know already,Yuji was able to damage souls even before the Shibuya arc. That is precisely how he was able to take on Mahito in combat and defeat him. Mahito recognized Yuji as his natural enemy, and that he could hurt him directly, unlike any other sorcerer, other than Nobara. Now, Yuji appears to have refined this ability and taken it to a whole new level.
In fact, even Sukuna believed him to be a threat, given that every blow that he took from Yuji shook him to his very core. That isn’t all. Every single blow that Yuji gave to Sukuna reduced his cursed energy output, and, at the same time, weakened his grasp on Megumi’s body. This is an incredible power that he has now picked up, and it just goes to show the incredible amount of training that he has put in, in the last one month. Yuji is absolutely unstoppable right now, and he’s proving his worth in the battle against Sukuna, again and again. His soul capture ability will be taken to the next level as the fight against Sukuna continues. In the end, it is absolutely going to be Yuji who will save Megumi by destroying Sukuna’s control over his body and weakening his soul tremendously.
This makes sense, given that Yuji himself has an indomitable soul, and only people with the strongest of souls can break other people’s souls down.
Yuji’s Blood Manipulation
By far, the most interesting ability that Yuji seems to have picked up in the last month is the ability of blood manipulation. This is a power that Yuji has been utilizing discreetly in his battle against Sukuna. He launched this attack through Piercing Blood at Sukuna from a distance, although, at the time, it wasn’t clear to the fans as to who launched the attack. Sukuna believed this to be Choso’s doing, however, given that he was nowhere near on the battlefield, this could not have been the case. In JJK chapter 251, Yuji spit blood on Sukuna’s face, and later on, made it explode. This was an application of Blood Manipulation, and once again, goes to show that Yuji possesses the power to manipulate blood.
If that is true, thenYuji still has his trump card in battle left to show.Blood Manipulation is a very dangerous ability and fans have already seen its many applications being shown in the series. Perhaps, using this ability, Yuji can also manifest a whole domain expansion, which would then spell even more trouble for the King of Curses.
Clearly, Yuji has progressed quite a lot over the course of the last month and learned abilities that no other sorcerer could ever hope to learn in such a short period of time. Yuji has progressed from someone on the level of a Grade One, to someone worthy of rivaling even the special grades in the JJK world. Although he isn’t on the same level as Sukuna, or even close to it, Yuji has the tools to progress even further.
It must also be kept in mind that Yuji has shared a body with Sukuna. As a result, it should not come as a surprise to the fans if he is able to utilize Sukuna’s own cursed technique. This is something that Gojo explicitly stated at the beginning of the story, and it has been already confirmed that Yuji might have access to Sukuna’s powers as well. Perhaps, it is only a matter of time before he uses this ability. Or, perhaps, the author has already changed his mind in this regard. Regardless of what path the story takes,Yuji has already strengthened quite a lot, but the best of his newly quiet abilities is yet to come. Fans can only hope that he shocks Sukuna in the ongoing battle and proves to him that he is a sorcerer worthy of living up to the standards set by his mentor, Gojo.
