One of the most popular party game franchises in the industry is coming back with a ninth entry. Today, Jackbox Games announced that next game in the franchise,The Jackbox Party Pack 9,is currently in development. Fans of this franchise have had plenty ofmini-games in theJackbox Party Packto play, where they could be new iterations on classic games, or sequels to existing ones. These range from testing players' trivia knowledge, to drawing a piece of art that players in a room can judge.

Last year,Jackbox Party Pack 8was released to generally favorable reviews, with fan-favorite games like Drawful getting an evolution into Drawful Animate. Along with this revised version of a classic game, there are also brand-new games included, such as Job Job. A total of five mini-games are included in this collection, as standard with other entries in theJackbox Party Packfranchise. This mini-game count consistency will continue in this next entry as well.

This game was announced on Jackbox Games' official website, in a blog post written by the developers. It states that all the games forThe Jackbox Party Pack 9will be new games, though noting that they are all in the “incubation phase” in reference to the chicks theme of the game. Despite the early development of these mini-games, the developers are ensuring that they will be ready for the fall.

The blog post gives some hints of themini-games that players can expect inThe Jackbox Party Pack 9, noting that one of them will be making an “innovative return.” No hints were given about which one of the games will be making a return, though it’s possible it could be one of the games that haven’t made an appearance in recent packs. Some fan favorite games that could return include Fibbage, Quiplash, or You Don’t Know Jack, though this is merely speculation at this time.
