Despite the graphics card landscape looking a little shaky due to the ongoing shortages, it hasn’t stopped the likes ofNvidia, AMD, and newcomers Intel from lining up a series of products ready to be dropped this year. With theArc Alchemist due for release soon, all three companies are wanting to push their products out, especially with a new combatant in the arena. However, while “team green” has been looking to release what looks to be a beast of a GPU, it has since come to the light that the release day may have to be pushed back a bit.
According to a recent report, it looks as thoughNvidiahas had to put production of its upcoming RTX 3090 Ti on hold, at least temporarily. While the company didn’t officially announce when it was originally going to be released, it had been suggested that the end of January was the proposed launch day. While nothing has been said officially, it could be sometime in February before consumers see its arrival. The reasons behind the delay are not clear, but according to sources, it seems as though there may be some issues with the BIOS of the card and the general hardware.

This is also not the first time Jensen Huang and co have had to push back release dates. Back in mid-December 2021,Nvidia postponed the release of the RTX 3070 Ti 16 GBand the 3080 12 GB. The former is looking to be coming out at the beginning of February, while the latter did get released around a week ago, though with little fanfare outside a change on the company website.
TheRTX 3090 Ti was announced at this year’s CES event, and will be a somewhat boosted version of its 3090 predecessor. Utilizing the GA102 chip and having 10,752 CUDA cores as well as 24 GB of GDDR6X memory, the Ti version of the card will likely go down as one of the most powerful cards on the market.
However,Nvidiadoesn’t wish to stop there. There are also plans to release the RTX 3050, which will cover the budget end of the graphics card industry, similar toAMD announcing its $200 RX 6500 XTearlier this month. Even though team green is having to delay the release of its monster graphics card, it’s still looking like Q1 and Q2 of this year are going to see a lot of selection for the budding gamer and PC enthusiast, especially with Intel now joining the fight.
