How to Get the Magnifying Glass
Players can obtain The Magnifying Glass by completingthe “A Winter Mystery” Quest. This quest can be triggered by entering the Bus Stop from the Farm between 6 AM and 4 PM during the Winter. The cutscene shows a suspicious-looking “Shadow Guy” standing by the Bus Stop, who is startled by the player and runs away.
To complete this quest, the player needs to find this mysterious figure by following its footprints in the snow. Following these imprints will lead players to a bush near Pelican Town’s playground. At this point, players will need to interact with the bush to trigger a cutscene that will prompt the Shadow Guy to emerge from the shrubbery. After apologizing for stealing the item, the NPC will hand over the Magnifying Glass to players before making a run for it.

The Shadow Guy is an NPC named Krobus, who lives inThe Sewers under Pelican Town. Players can find rare goods at Krobus’ Shop.
How to Use the Magnifying Glass
The Magnifying Glass is a useful tool inStardew Valleysince it is required tofind Secret Notes, which have a small chance of appearing while conducting actions like chopping trees or battling monsters.
To use the Magnifying glass:
Finding a Secret Note enables the Collections tab in the Inventory. To read a Secret Note players need to select it by right-clicking on it.
Secret Notes can be gifted, but they are a Universally Hated item.
