Therefore, players who want to build a team with Erudition characters but lack access to certain 5-star options like Himeko or Jing Yuan may find this rebellious rock star to be a suitable choice for their requirements.

In the beginning, players may become somewhat confused about how to build her due to Serval’s ability to specialize in various aspects, such as Shock DoT enabler, which opens up a unique playstyle especially when combined with other characters like Sampo, or serving as a mix of AoE and single-target damage dealer. Fortunately, there are several light cone options available that enable Serval to maximize her damage output while providing additional utility, both as free-to-play choices and otherwise.

While originally a 4-star gacha light cone, players who participated in the All Stars Invite web event before and during the initial weeks of theHonkai: Star Raillaunch had the opportunity to obtain Make The World Clamor for free, which coincidentally features Serval on its artwork. For those who did not miss out, this light cone can be utilized as one of thefree-to-play optionsfor Serval. Its significance may vary depending on the content, as in some cases, such as Simulated Universe after unlocking higher ability tree levels, its initial Energy generation may not be as impactful. However, in other content, it can prove useful, as Serval’s ultimate is a substantial source of DPS due to its high scaling,comparable to some 5-star characters. Additionally, Make The World Clamor enhances the ultimate’s damage without any specific conditions. Alternatively, those seeking a gacha option instead of Make The World Clamor can also consider Geniuses' Repose.
4The Seriousness of Breakfast
Another excellent free-to-play light cone for Serval is Seriousness of Breakfast, which is permanently available and can be obtained by completing certain Trailblaze Missions or Forgotten Hall Light Cone Store. It can also be max superimposed by obtaining enoughLucent Afterglow from completing Forgotten Halllevels and weekly bosses. The secondary effect of this light cone requires enemies to be defeated before it triggers, but the first effect increases Serval’s overall damage output, including her DoT and ultimate damage, without any conditions. This light cone becomes particularly effective in battles with waves of enemies or boss battles where the boss frequently summonsadditional enemies, such as Cocolia.
3Today Is Another Peaceful Day
Unlike the previous two options, Today Is Another Peaceful Day is a strictly non-free-to-play option that requires players to spend real-life currency to purchase Nameless Glory and redeem it at level 30 of Nameless Honor, the game’s patch-wide seasonal battle pass. However, for players who want to equip a 4-star option for Serval as they don’t have access to suitable 5-star options or plan to choose otherlight cone options from Nameless Glory, Today Is Another Peaceful Day can be highly beneficial. This is because, like many other Erudition characters, Serval also has a high maximum energy requirement, and equipping this light cone can exponentially increase her damage.
2Night on The Milky Way

Typically considered as Himeko’s signature 5-star light cone, Night on The Milky Way can also be a great option for Serval, thanks to the significant ATK buff it provides when facing a large number of enemies. Additionally, even though Serval is not typically built around Weakness Break, focusing more on her DoT potential, if she is used in teams that can effectively Weakness Break opponents, such aswith characters like Pelaor Asta, she can greatly benefit from the damage increase provided by this light cone. However, one downside of Night on The Milky Way, besides its difficulty to obtain, is that it is more situational and dependent on team composition and opponents compared to Today Is Another Peaceful Day. In certain instances, the versatility and flat damage increase of the 4-star option may be more suitable due to its consistent effectiveness, as opposed to the ATK increase which can have diminishing returns.

With its considerable increase in Crit DMG, as well as the boosts to Skill and Ultimate DMG, Jing Yuan’s signature 5-star light cone is also highly suitable for Serval, along with many other Erudition characters. However, it is important to note that Serval cannot effectively utilize the additional ability related to increasing follow-up attacks, as she doesn’t havefollow-up attacksin her own kit. Nonetheless, considering the value of the first two unconditional effects, it remains the best option for Serval, even though it may benefit characters like Himeko or Jing Yuan more effectively.
