Summary

AZelda: Tears of the Kingdomclip highlights a Frox eating a Shard of Farosh’s Fang as it falls from the sky. Like its predecessor,Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomfeatures giant dragons that patrol certain areas, but players may want to be careful of where they engage with them.

There are four dragons inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Land of Hyrule. Dinraal patrols the Eldin Mountains and Akkala Highlands, Naydra can be found between Naydra Snowfield and the Necluda Sea, Farosh flies between the Faron Grasslands and Lake Hylia, and the Light Dragon soars around most of the map. Each dragon can provide Link with helpful materials to craft with, but getting up to them can be difficult. In most cases, players can jump into a canyon at the same time as a dragon flies through it to get close enough to engage with them. As one gamer shoots their bow at one of these dragons, a Frox waiting below is waiting to consume the shard that drops to the ground.

Reddit user TheGoldenLynel recently shared a clip of their attempts to acquire materials fromZelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Farosh. The clip begins with Link gliding around the head of the dragon and dodging the lightning orbs that can cause some significant damage to the hero. As the player reaches the snout of the dragon, they equip their bow and fire an arrow at the mouth of the creature. A flash of light from its mouth indicates that one of the dragon materials was subsequently dropped from the sky. As the player retracts their glider to reach it, a Frox health bar appears at the top of the screen. Before noticing Link, the Frox reaches the Shard of Farosh’s Fang before the player, and the powerful Depths boss consumes it.

What Is the Dragon Material Useful For?

As the gamer is unable to land before the Frox consumes the Shard of Farosh’s Fang, they’re helpless to do anything to prevent it. Because they landed so close, a battle with the Frox may have ensued. Even if defeated, the Frox won’t drop the Shard, making it lost to the enemy. The Shard of Farosh’s Fang is a helpful material that can be used to enhance the Cap of the Wild which can be acquired at The Hebra Dark Skeleton in The Depths. Beyond enhancing thispiece ofTears of the Kingdomarmor, these shards can also be sold to Hyrule vendors for 250 Rupees or traded with Kilton for 110 Mon. As Frox loot is less helpful than dragon items, the Frox may not be worth battling after the unfortunate discovery that it eats Shards.

Due to how many Frox are intheTears of the KingdomDepths, the likelihood of one being under Farosh as materials drop from the dragon is high. Given that a Frox may eat these materials, players may have better luck looting the dragon Scales and Shards if they scout the area ahead of time.
