According to a recent update from 343 Industries,Halo Infinite’s Forge feature has already passed a significant milestone despite still being in the beta stage. Over the years, the Forge has grown to be one of the most popular features of theHalofranchise. Now, as 343 attempts to reintroduce the tool viaHalo Infinite, fans appear to be responding with similar enthusiasm.
First released onHalo3, the Forge is an in-game map editor where players can create their own multiplayer maps and game modes. Given its widespread appeal among fans, 343 brought the Forge as a beta forHalo Infinitelast year. Before long, the toolset become a fan-favorite within the game and 343 even added adedicated playlist for community-created Forge maps. While it may be a while until the feature gets an official launch, its popularity insideHalo Infinitedoesn’t seem to be slowing down.

According to 343 Industries,Halo Infinite’s Forge beta has passed one million creations as of June 30, 2025. Back in December, the developer followed up Forge beta’s release with the custom game browser that enabled players to connect and host custom matches, which included Forge creations. So far, over 8.5 million custom matches have been played after the addition of the custom game browser. The studio further mentions that there’s more on the way for the Forge, including a mini-game mode and new map budget categories. In any case, with fans using the feature to recreate everything fromTrontoSkyrim’s Whiterun inHalo InfiniteForge, the Forge’s user numbers are hardly surprising.
The announcement from 343 comes days after the developer unveiledwhat’s to come inHalo Infinite Season 3: Echoes Within, which is scheduled to launch on March 7. The new season will be the game’s next massive update which includes new maps, modes, and equipment, while more updates are said to be on the way. Interestingly, season 3 doesn’t appear to be shipping the recently teased upcoming career progression system forHalo Infinite.
While the Forge continues to find popularity among the fanbase, the future of the Xbox franchise remains in a tricky spot, particularly after Microsoft’s layoffs early this year. AlthoughHalo Infinite’s plans are reportedly unchanged, recent reports indicate that the developer might have changed plans for new story content in place of more emphasis on the multiplayer elements of the game. Regardless, fans can take heart in the fact that the developer continues to put focus on some ofHalo’s more requested features like the Forge. As to how far that will help 343 carryHalo Infinite, time will tell.
