An inspiredGTA San Andreasfan known as Zocom7 on Reddit recreated the game’s map inCities: Skylines, spending hours replicating all key locations from the game. Zocom7 shared various pictures of this project on Reddit, including a view of downtown San Fierro, with downtown Los Santos and Las Venturas in the distance, an overview of the total map, and closer shots of the iconic Grove Street. Zocom7 explained that this was their second attempt at recreatingGTA San Andreasin this city-building game, this time usingall theCities: Skylinesexpansions. This city had a population of over 170,000 with 76% of traffic, making it not only a faithful reproduction of the originalGTA San Andreasmap but also a functioning city to play inCities: Skylines.
In the comments to this Reddit post, players immediately recognized the popular setting ofGTA San Andreas. They complimented Zocom7 on this creation, who explained having regrets as they couldn’t create the perfect cul-de-sac forGTA San Andreas’ Grove Street.Cities: Skylineshad a mod to create those, but the recent game updates prevented this mod to work properly. They also explained how the Las Venturas airport and Los Santos international airport were not actual airports, but a combination of various buildings to make them look like the airports fromGTA San Andreas. Only metro rail, train, tram, trolley, and tour buses were used in this city, with no public buses, taxis and post office trucks to prevent traffic jams.
While this creation is impressive, players will soon be able to build even better cities with the upcoming release ofCities: Skylines 2. WhileCities: Skylines 2’s map is smaller than previously believed, the game comes with a variety of new features, with improved transportation and economic systems, as well as additional customization options.
Cities: Skylinesis currently available on PC, macOS, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
