These disappointed fans may be in luck, however, as recent comments from establishedGTAinsider and reporter Tek2 suggest thatGrand Theft Auto 6could be getting single-player DLC. Tek2 stated that Rockstar plans to release “episodic content, aka [single-player] DLC,” after the initial launch ofGTA 6. The leaker didn’t go into much detail as to what this episodic content could contain, but stated that they would likely involve map updates and would come as frequently as the expansions to the game’s online mode.

Tez2 has predictedGTA 6DLCbefore, suggesting ambitious content releases like entirely new cities to explore. Tek2’s most recent comments shed a bit more light on what this single-player DLC could look like, as they liken it to the scrapped single-player expansions forGrand Theft Auto 5. The prediction that single-player DLC could be released as often as multiplayer DLC may seem a bit far-fetched, given Rockstar’s strategy withGTA 5, however.

That said, the idea of single-player DLC forGrand Theft Auto 6isn’t so unrealistic. Demand for this sort of content certainly exists, and Tez2 has previously speculated thatRockstar could spreadGTA 6’s contentacross a number of different DLCs, which would allow the game to release earlier. Additionally,Red Dead Onlinemay have proved that the success ofGTA Onlineisn’t so easily replicated, which could encourage Rockstar to shift gears when it comes to post-launch support forGrand Theft Auto 6.
