Gotham Knightsis the newest game to come from WB Games Montreal and will take place in a separate continuity from theBatman Arkhamseries. Many are looking forward to what this new game will bring to the table, but the reveal trailer and subsequent gameplay left many fans confused on certain points. Thus, the creative director and senior producer ofGotham Knightshave decided to address some of these questions.

While there were many who were impressed by whatGotham Knightshad to offerafter the game was revealed at DC Fandome, there were many who were left confused by the story and even frustrated with some of the design decisions that the developers made. A pressing concern that many fans had after finding out there would be a leveling up system in place, was the fact thatGotham Knightsmight be level-gated because of how characters advance, and is a problem that has occurred in games likeAssassin’s Creed OriginsandAssassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Fortunately, Redding and Marty stated that no such problem will occur inGotham Knights. They say that it’s all one big open city for players to explore. Though, the enemy level system the developers have in place still leads to more questions, considering that enemy levels will still be higher or lower than the player’s level depending on the situation. This may not be as big an issue whenplaying in co-op mode, given that there will be two players to handle the encroaching enemies.

In any case, there are still fans that would prefer to not have a level up system at all. This is one area wherethe dislikes on theGotham Knightsgameplay trailercame from. It will be interesting to see if the developers make any changes to the game based on the current consensus of the fans.

For how much additional information was clarified, there is still so much that fans don’t know about this game, including mission types, how co-op mode will work, what villains will be featured in the game outside of thevillains that have been confirmed forGotham Knightsso far, and many other details. The rest of the gaming community will just have to wait and see.

Gotham Knightsis set to launch in 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
