As Warner Bros. Interactive continues the march towardsGotham Knights' October release, WB Montreal has been giving players fresh looks at what each member of the Bat Family brings to the team. Nightwing, Batgirl, and Robin have all been given a spotlight to show off their skills they will rely on to bring down theCourt of Owlsand any other threats to Gotham City. The only team member left to highlight is Jason Todd, better known as Red Hood, and WB Montreal has let players know when his character trailer will be releasing online.Gotham Knightswill follow the aforementioned members of the Bat Family in the wake of Batman’s apparent death, leaving the defense of Gotham City to four of his trusted associates. Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood will find themselves squaring off with classic villains like Mr. Freeze and Penguin as they try to take advantage of the situation to either take control or wreak havoc within Gotham. However, the team’s biggest threat may be lurking in the shadows as the mysterious Court of Owls, a secret society which has controlled Gotham from the shadows, looks to consolidate their hold on the city and eliminate the Bat Family once and for all.RELATED:New Gotham Knights Cutscene Confirms Dick and Barbara’s Past RelationshipWB Montreal has revealed the fourth character spotlight trailer is right around the corner, taking to the game’s official Twitter to let players known it will be live Wednesday, August 10, bright and early at 6 AM PST/9 AM EST. It will follow the previous character spotlight for Batgirl released by DC and WB Interactive as part of the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con,showcasing Barbara Gordonand how similar her gameplay style will be to Batman from theBatman: Arkhamseries. Red Hood, on the other hand, has been shown to be a more range-focused character with his pistols while his hand-to-hand style is much heavier and more brawler-like compared to the rest of the team.

Narratively, Red Hood could prove to be the proverbial wild card of the team as they battle the Court of Owls and various super-criminals in Gotham City. It would make sense, givenJason Todd’s tragic and volatile historywith Batman and the Bat Family as a result of his death at the hands of the Joker in the 1988 comic storylineDeath in the Family. His subsequent resurrection and return to Gotham City in the 2005 storylineUnder the Red Hoodsaw Todd face off with his former mentor, believing Batman’s methods failed and they were better off putting down Gotham’s villains for good, though the two would make amends years later.

The iteration already shown in gameplay teases a Hood who has become a welcome part of the family, trading his lethal tactics for those of the Bat Family and even forming a friendly rapport withDick Grayson. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Todd’s gruff edge show itself at points duringGotham Knightsdue to Batman’s death and cause any lingering issues with the rest of the family to show themselves.

Gotham Knightsis scheduled to release on October 25 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
