Genshin Impact’s storyline has officially arrived in the mysterious land of Sumeru, which means that there will be tons of new content for players to play through in the next couple of months. Even though update 3.0 has just arrived, recent leaks have revealed more information about the next update.

One of the most popularGenshin Impactleakers, Ubatcha1, has finally revealed the gameplay animations for one of the upcoming characters, the star of the Zubayr Theater, Nilou. She is one of the three characters that were revealed inGenshin Impact’s recent social media announcements.

Even though developer HoYoverse didn’t mention anything about her release date, Nilou is expected to arrive inGenshin ImpactVersion 3.1. Nilou’s elemental skill allows her to enter the Pirouette state which will cause all of her attacks to be converted to Hydro damage. According to previous leaks, this skill seems to have a very long cooldown which is a good indicator that she could be a decent sub-DPS or support character.

Rumors have also been hinting that in order to fulfill Nilou’s damage potential, players need her to surround her with Dendro and Hydro characters which might be one of the reasons why she wasn’t released in the first Sumeru update. The same leaker has previously confirmed that Nilou’s team composition should be focused around anew elemental reaction named Bloom, which is triggered when Hydro and Dendro are combined.

Nilou’s Elemental Burst apparently deals AoE Hydro damage around her model which could be useful if she’s surrounded by a large group of enemies. The damage will scale with her max. HP, and it will have a bonus effect after the explosion, similar to Mona’s Stellaris Phantasm. Even though there is a lot of hype around Dendro, anew change to the Hydro Resonancecould make this element one of the strongest in the game.

Having at least two Hydro characters in a team composition will now increase the party members' max HP by 25%, which will make the element significantly stronger especially considering that the damage output for most Hydro users scales with max. HP. Players who want to get their hands on the new Hydro sword character will have to wait forupdate 3.1, which is scheduled for September 28.

Genshin Impactis now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
