ABloodbornefan has created an incredible painting based on one of the game’s final confrontations. The painting shows The Moon Presence descending from the heavens to confront the Hunter, with theBloodbornescene’s popularity proven by how many fans have created their own tributes based on the shot.
Way back in 2015, FromSoftware releasedBloodbornefor the PlayStation 4, and it was the first console exclusive the company had released sinceDemon’s Soulsin 2009. The game was a big critical success and currently holds a 92 rating on Metacritic with over 2 million copies sold worldwide. WhileBloodbornefans shouldn’t expect any news in 2023, it still holds a place in the hearts of many gamers, some of whom still create tributes to it to this day.

As mentioned above, the arrival of The Moon Presence is easily one of the most popular visuals within the game. For example, oneBloodbornefan made an impressive bit of pixelart based on the Great One. Recently, Reddit user ArtbyAEB took this further by creating a whole painting based on the moment which appears to be a direct recreation of the moment. The artist himself can be seen in the picture and is clearly proud of the work he has done.
Of all the developer’s Soulsborne games, this entry had an extremely vague plot. The vast majority ofBloodborne’s story was hidden away in its lore, and it was full of easily missable details and certain plot points that only make sense if a player knows these details. The actual role of the Moon Presence is hidden away in such details, and its function within the story was left vague and up for players to interpret. However, it still plays a critical role in the game’s ending.
Three endings are presented to the player inBloodborne’sfinal act, and The Moon Presence itself is involved in two of those endings. The first has the creature hugging the player and bounding it to The Hunter’s Dream, taking Gehrman’s place as its caretaker. If the player was able to find and consume three umbilical cords, The Moon Presence rejects The Hunter and a final boss fight ensue. Should the player be victorious over The Moon Presence they will become an Old One, arguably succeeding where all others failed before them. Either way, the shot of the creature approaching them remains the same, and has become one that fans will likely continue to pay tribute to for some time.
