Surviving the volcanic winter featured throughoutFrostpunkis an incredibly difficult task. MostPro players ofFrostpunkdidn’t get to where they are without freezing over a few times in the process, and even then, fewer have conquered the ever-daunting Survival Mode. In other words, the survival experience here is a learned one, no matter how players choose to face it.

That means for players new to the harsh and unforgiving winter, they’ll want to make sure theyknow all they can before startingFrostpunk. That includes this guide, which focuses on how to rotate buildings. Rotating buildings probably sounds like it would be pretty straightforward, butFrostpunkis as unforgiving about tutorials as it is about its weather. As the leader of the last city on Earth, things can get a little frustrating in trying to figure out the mechanic.

How To Rotate Buildings in Frostpunk

Some players have no doubt played through the entire game without changing the direction of their buildings even once. To rotate buildings inFrostpunk, it all starts with the scroll wheel on the mouse. However, unlike most survival simulators, players need to firstclick the middle mouse button. After this, players will then be able to rotate buildings and direct them as they see fit.

Now that one of the most frustrating mechanics of the game is resolved, players can turn their focus towardswhat makesFrostpunkso difficultin the first place. If a bare-bones tutorial wasn’t ruthless enough, the game is notorious for how tough it can be on its players. One thing that often catches players off guard is that there are many different variables to account for, meaning inevitably, something is in danger of being neglected if players aren’t diligent.

Difficulty aside, the game is still a challenging one and well worth the try if possible. The Epic Games Store recently listedFrostpunkas this week’s free game, making any financial commitment a non-issue. On release, the PC version received an 84 and the PS4 version an 87, making the game well worth any money spent. Not to mention, the biting winds and harsh choices forced upon players don’t make the game any easier to speedrun.

Of course, all that hard work pays off once the city manages to survive the harsh winter, and thankfully, the directions in which any buildings face don’t play a major part in doing so.

Frostpunkis available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Mac.
