The Shockwave Grenade is returning toFortnite, and players will soon be able to launch themselves forward with it once again. So far, Chapter 4 Season 3 has received a slew of mixed feelings. There’s no doubt that it introduced tons of content toFortnitewith the addition of the new jungle POIs. It brought back Raptors and gave players unique weapons and items, such as the Cybertron Cannon and Wildwasps, but it also took away fan-favorite items.Unfortunately, there’s one thing that players felt was lacking at the beginning of Chapter 4 Season 3, and that’s mobility. When the WILDS season started,Fortnitevaulted two major mobility options, the ODM Gear and the Spider-Verse Web-Shooters, and not long before this, another mobility item, the Kinetic Blade, had also been removed from the game. No items were added to replace this big mobility loss, so many gamers were upset that they couldn’t move through the battle royale map as fast as they would’ve liked.RELATED:Fortnite Update Shakes Up Weapon Loot PoolFortunately, it seems like there will be an improvement to this mobility issue soon. The officialFortniteStatus Twitter account revealed that the Shockwave Grenade will be returning to the game with the v25.10 update.Fortniteupdates usually drop on Tuesdays, so players can expect to see this item once again on June 20. Strangely, it seems like the Shockwave Grenade will only be available in theZero Build game modeand not the regular Battle Royale mode, but this might change in the future, as Epic Games continues to pay attention to fan feedback.
Players who werehappy to see a mobility reduction inFortnitethis season probably won’t be too upset with this addition. Shockwave Grenades are powerful, but unless the player collects dozens of them, they won’t be traveling long distances with them. When a Shockwave Grenade is thrown, its explosion causes a burst of energy that moves the player forward or in the air a few meters.
On the other hand, some players were expecting theGrapple Glove to be brought back toFortnitesince recent leaks pointed in this direction. Just like the ODM Gear or the Web-Shooters, the item would’ve allowed gamers to swing from place to place and move quite rapidly through the map. It seems that Epic Games is trying to find a happy medium; it would like to give players useful mobility items to help them circulate without making the Storm Circle a mechanic that can be easily ignored by too many options.
Fortniteis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
