Fire Emblem Engagejust revealed a bunch of characters, missions, and story chapters coming to the game as a part of its Expansion Pass DLC. This newFire Emblem Engagecontent will be coming in three waves, the first of which will be available today.

Wave 2 ofFire Emblem Engage’sExpansion Pass DLC add new Emblem charactersfor players to recruit. Wave 2 introduces Hector from the firstFire Emblemreleased outside Japan, as well as Soren fromPath of Radianceand Camilla fromFire Emblem Fates. Each of these new characters have special abilities to turn the tide, such as casting area spells and modifying the terrain to one’s advantage. These characters are coming February 8, the same day they were announced.

The following wave also adds new characters toFire Emblem Engage, and will be coming some time later. Both Chrom and Robin fromFire Emblem Awakeningcome together as a single Emblem, combining their sword and sorcery to devastating effect. On the other hand, Veronica seems to have an ability to summon other heroes to battle, mimicking the gachamechanic fromFire Emblem Heroeswhere she originates.

The final wave of DLC currently announced forFire Emblem Engageadds a new story chapter to the game called the Fell Xenologue. Little is known about the contents of this side story, but from the brief footage, players can expect Alear to aid a mysterious duo whose world is in danger, fend off corrupted assassins, and team up with a friendly fell dragon by the name of Nel.

Fire Emblem Engagefans are excited to see the variety of charactersbeing added to the game through its Expansion Pass. Hector, Soren, and Veronica come as especially-surprising additions. While these characters are undoubtedly popular, many would not have expected them to be chosen over other mainstream favorites. Players are also curious to find out what the Fell Xenologue is about, and are always happy to see extra playable content added to the game.

Now that it has been out for a month,reviews forFire Emblem Engageare readily available. While the game has won accolades on its engaging combat system, many players have found some of the characters and social aspects of the game to be lackluster. Even so, many players have enjoyed their time withFire Emblem Engage. It may not be able to compare to the likes ofAwakeningorThree Houses, butFire Emblem Engageis a solid title–and the upcoming DLC can only make it better.
