Unlocking the Arena
The Arena becomes available pretty early in the game, just after chapter 4 is completed. This coincides with the first few shops on the Somniel opening up. Once open, players can head inside and interact with the symbol on the floor to make use of it.
How the Arena Works
After gaining access to the arena, players are able tomake use of two different training options, both of which offer different benefits and have different restrictions on their use.
The first type of arena training is Normal Training, which allows players to choose a unit and have them fight another member of the army at random. This strengthens the bond between those units and causes the selected unit to gain EXP. This makes it useful for gaining extra EXP on units, topping up units on the verge of leveling up, and unlocking more Bond Conversations.

The only downside to Normal Training is that it can only be used three times each time the player returns to the Somniel, requiring the player to complete a battle before those uses are refreshed. This isn’t too much of a problem since Skirmishes are readily available and another excellent way of gaining EXP for units.
The second type of training is Emblem training, which allows a unit to spar with an Emblem to raise their bond level with that Emblem. This effectively allows players to spend their bond fragments to raise a unit’s bond level with an Emblem of their choice and thus meet the requirements for Inheritance skills more easily.
This is a fantastic way of gaining the necessary bond to grab an essential skill from an Emblem that a character hasn’t bonded with without needing to grind for bond levels first. One excellent use of this is giving Sigurd’s Canter ability to any unit for extra mobility in combat.
