Japanese game company Level-5 has just unveiled a new video trailer for its recently announced social slow-life RPGFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Given that it has been years since the firstFantasy Lifetitle made its way to an actual gaming console, fans of the RPG sim will likely be excited by the new footage and features showcased inLevel-5’s trailer.
It seems that Level-5 has made the recent February 2023 Nintendo Direct its main stage in making major announcements for its new and existing video games. This seems just right asLevel-5 started 2023 with teasers for a new IPthrough a New Year’s greeting card. And true enough, the company unveiled several big titles during the Nintendo Direct. This includes a new puzzle-RPG calledDeca Police Game, a new addition to theProfessor Laytonseries, and, of course,Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.

According to the official trailer ofFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, the game will be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch within 2023. The video teased the RPG’s story, stating that players will be able to move between the past and present in order to develop their island. Footage showcased that players may be able to customize their island’s layout, much liketerraforming inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. Beside being able to format the island’s terrain, it seems players also have some say on the layout of structures on the island as well.
The trailer also teased the different jobs that players can take on while playingFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Some of these mentioned in the video include Woodcutter, Angler, Cook, Paladin, and Magician. A preview of the gameplay was also included, showcasing the action RPG style of theFantasy Lifeseries. At the end of the trailer, the player’s character is seen inside a house and placing down furniture. This might mean that players will also be able to decorate andfurnish their own homes just like inAnimal Crossing.
Even thoughLevel-5 is more well-known forNi no Kuni,Yokai Watch,Dragon Quest, andProfessor Layton, there are still a number of fans who are probably excited aboutFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. The lastFantasy Lifetitle was only playable on mobile devices, and seeing another game being developed for an actual console is likely going to stoke the interest of the fans.
