Last week tech entrepreneur and living meme machine Elon Musk unveiled Tesla’s latest creation, the Cybertruck. With comparisons being made to it looking like a rejectedStar Foxvehicle, to even being modded intoGoldeneye 007, the Cybertruck has been the internet’s newest punching bag to hilarious effect. There have even been rumors that theCybertruck will be inCyberpunk 2077.
Rocket Leagueplayers don’t want to be left out and have launched apetitionto add the car as DLC for the game. The petition was started by Nikki Luzader, who sent the petition out to Psyonix, Epic Games, Tesla, and Elon himself. Nikki proclaims that the Cybertruck is “a revolutionary vehicle whose beauty, power, and elegance is unsurpassed” and urges their fellow gamers to sign the petition to put the power of Tesla’s latest creation in their hands. Considering most players probably won’t be able to drive one in real life anytime soon, as even getting a chance to place a pre-order is $100 a pop, this might be the best chance they can get.

Currently, the petition sits at over 2,100 signatures, and the latest update was posted 10 hours ago at the time of this writing. In this update, Nikki says that they have informed both Psyonix and Tesla that she will be sending them a list of signatures once it crosses the 2,500 mark. Another list will be sent if the signatures reach the next milestone of 5,000.
The car’s unique geometry might even make for interesting gameplay when zipping around the field. Hopefully, the ball won’t shatter the window inRocket Leagueas it did in real life though.
The Cybertruck could make a great addition to the game, especially considering other famous vehicles like the Batmobile and theBack to the FutureDeLorean are already playable, so it wouldn’t feel out of place. EvenRocket LeagueandStranger Thingshave crossed over in the past.
Thenew Rocket League Season Passwas also just announced last week, featuring a Japanese/techno focused vibe, so attention is on the game at the moment now that its competitive circuit is done for the year. A big publicity stunt like this would be great press for the game.
Rocket Leagueis available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
