It has recently been confirmed thatFallout 5will come after the release ofThe Elder Scrolls 6, which means the successor toFallout 4could be at least a decade away. Luckily, fans still have plenty ofFalloutcontent they can look forward to thanks to modders.
Even thoughFallout 4released back in 2015, the game still sees plenty of new modded content. Modders are a staple in any Bethesda game, especially working on unofficial patches and bug fixes, but what really gets the community excited is huge mods that add tons of new quests, characters, and locations to the already populated world ofFallout 4. There are currently a good deal of Fallout4mods to look out for amid the wait forFallout 5.

Fallout 4: Point Lookout
The Point Lookout mod addsFallout 3’seerie swampland toFallout 4. It also includes the add-on’s main questline and side quests, with voice acting. The mod was released in May 2022 and has gotten over 36,000 unique downloads since. Overall, it’s an excellent recreation of one ofFallout 3’sbest locations. It’s also worth noting that theteam behindFallout 4: Point Lookoutis working on other huge mods that seek to recreate iconicFalloutlocations inFallout 4.

Sim Settlements 2
A follow-up to the well-received Sim Settlements mod,Sim Settlements 2 comes with all its interface improvements, plus a new storyline. The mod adds countless building options, new quests, and fully voiced settlers. There’s also an overarching episodic story, withChapters 1 and 2 currently being out and more in development.
For players who just want the improved settlement building mechanics, they can also download the original Sim Settlements. There are plenty of expansions to the original mod, such as “Industrial Revolution,” “Rise of the Commonwealth,” and “Conqueror.”

Project Mojave
A passion project by some members of the team behindFallout 4: Point Lookout,Project Mojave seeks to recreatethe map ofFallout: New Vegasas an explorable landmass inFallout 4. The mod is currently downloadable in its Alpha state, which includes the entire New Vegas strip and three casinos, among other locations.
The team is currently working on expanding theNew Vegasmap and intends to do so “with a twist” to show how the Mojave Wasteland has changed over time. Though the mod isn’t a full remake - meaning there probably won’t be questlines from the original game - it’s still great to see howNew Vegaswould have looked inFallout 4’snewer engine.

Fallout: Miami
Fallout: Miamiis a modset in a new region of the world: the post-apocalyptic Vacation Wasteland. The completed mod will include new creatures, landscapes, and thrust the player into the middle of an ideological conflict between the Nuclear Patriots and the Enclave.
Though the full mod has yet to be released, players can download an early version of the mod’s map, as well as the first part of an episodic release titled “Miami Misadventures.”
Capital Wasteland
Capital Wastelandis aFallout 4modby the team behindFallout 4: Point Lookoutthat’s working on recreating the world ofFallout 3inFallout 4. This entails creating new assets and locations, and the mod team is even working onFallout 3’sweapon degradation and repair system.
Unlike the aforementioned mods,Capital Wastelandwill be a total conversion mod - which means it will completely overhaul the content ofFallout 4. The mod is still in development and has yet to announce an official release date, but judging by Point Lookout, it seems the project is in good hands.

Fallout 4: New Vegas
Not to be confused with Project Mojave,Fallout 4: New Vegasis closer to a full remake, as it intends to release a full recreation of the map along withNew Vegas’original quests. The mod’s social media accounts have released a steady stream of item models and map screenshots, and its development team is also working on a functional gambling system.
Fallout 4: Project Arroyo
Modders have not forgotten about the originalFalloutgames.Fallout 4: Project Arroyoseeks to recreate theworld ofFallout 2inFallout 4. No doubt this is one of the more challenging undertakings in the community, as its modding team has to recreate assets based onFallout 2’sisometric graphics.
Fallout 4: Project Arroyodoesn’t have much in-game footage or trailers yet. However, the assets - from the broken-down drawers to the handmade pipe rifles - look excellent in their 3D recreations based on what has been revealed.
Fallout: Vault 13
The originalFalloutalso gets plenty of love from the modding community.Fallout: Vault 13is working on recreatingFallout 1with theFallout 4engine, and its social media accounts have already published screenshots of areas like Shady Sands and Vault 15. The team also released a video showcase of Shady Sands earlier this year.
Fallout: Cascadia
Fallout: Cascadiais anotherFallout 4modthat brings players to a completely new region of the United States; in this case, the Pacific Northwest. It will follow the story of a new protagonist named the Drifter and features new factions that are unique to the area.
Like Capital Wasteland, it will be a complete overhaul ofFallout 4, requiring the player to start a new game. Though there’s no release date yet, there’s plenty of video content available onFallout: Cascadia.
Fallout London
TheFallout Londonmoduniquely takes players to post-apocalyptic places outside the United States, and introduces seven new factions. It also features new assets, including weapons, armor, and physical structures.
Having recently released a gameplay trailer, there has been a positive community response toFallout London. The first few minutes of gameplay look very promising, coupled with well-crafted environments and great voice acting. No doubt fans are excited to see how the world outside America has fared in the face of the apocalypse.
