WhenMarvel’s Avengersinitially released, all its costumes were based off the comics or were completely original designs made by Crystal Dynamics. While it was understandable that the developer wanted to forge its own path and distance itself from theMarvel Cinematic Universe, it was an odd decision to ignore costumes from the most successful film franchise in the world today. Fortunately,MCUsuits have finally started to come toMarvel’s Avengers, and a fair bit have appeared already.
While there are countlessMCUsuits that could come for characters like Iron Man, others have already had their best looks from the big screen added to the game. Hopefully, this trend will continue, as theMCUhas no shortage of outfits to pull from. For those that can’t get enough of the live action Marvel universe, here are the suits worth picking up inMarvel’s Avengers- and the ones that Crystal Dynamics should prioritize going forward.

The MCU Suits Currently In Marvel’s Avengers
MostMarvel’s Avengers’MCUcostumes come directly fromAvengers: Endgame. Given the film’s monumental success, and its status as the finale ofthe Infinity Saga, this decision makes perfect sense. After all, that film featured costumes that served as an evolution of each hero’s costume, with many of their outfits in that film being viewed as the very best versions by the fan base.
TheAvengers: Endgamelineup covers five of the six launch heroes, with only Kamala Khan missing out on a skin since she did not appear in the film. Black Widow’s look solid, with the intricate textures and linework of her suit allowing it to stand out. However, the braided hairstyle was missing, with Crystal Dynamics using her default hair from the game instead. The same happens withHawkeye’sEndgameskin, as the unmasked Clint had a buzz cut as opposed to the stylish mohawk seen in the movie. Hawkeye’s skin in particular frustrated fans, though thankfully the otherEndgame-related skins were more faithful.

The big three all look tremendous, as Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor look like they were ripped straight off the screen. There are no liberties taken with the costumes worn by The Avengers’ heavy hitters, withCaptain America’s scaled armorlooking particularly great. Iron Man’sEndgamelook put a modern take on his original costume, with the gold appendages looking just as stylish in the game as they did in Tony Stark’s lastMCUappearance. While it would have been fun to see Fat Thor and his stylized beard in-game, Crystal Dynamics does a great job adapting the look seen when he decapitates Thanos at the start of the movie.
A few of the latestMCUsuits have pulled from movies other thanAvengers: Endgame, however. Black Widow’s solo movie saw her donning a white snow suit, with the look being one of the most memorable costumes she has worn in theMCU. In turn, it is one of the best costumes available for her inMarvel’s Avengers. Surprisingly,Captain America’s suit fromThe Avengershas made it into the game. The suit’s thin design and lack of protection couple with an odd cowl to make for one of the least impressive suits that Cap has worn, though it seems like the costume has its fans. It also looks better in-game, with it fitting well on the in-game model of Steve Rogers.
Black Panther’sMCUsuitwas the latest costume added. The outfit captures T’Challa’s look from his solo movie, with the tooth necklace around his neck looking spot on. The stylish and heavily detailed Panther mask looks nice in-game, with the Vibranium suit made to look more intimidating through its gauntlets. While it is nice to see T’Challa getting anMCUsuit like the other heroes, his movie-inspired costume should not be the last one that is added toMarvel’s Avengers.

The MCU Suits Marvel’s Avengers Still Needs
While Captain America may already have twoMCUsuits, it would be great to see his stealth suit featured in the game. Worn duringCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, the costume sees the hero in a blue and white outfit, with red nowhere to be seen.Captain America actor Chris Evanshas gone on record to say that this is his favorite suit, and it is easy to see why, as it looks comfortable and effective. While it may not be the classic look that Cap is known for, it certainly deserves some love.
The same can be said for Thor and Iron Man, the other top tier members of The Avengers. For Thor, his secondMCUoutfit should be pulled directly fromThor: Ragnarok.Taika Waititi’s take on Thorsaw him completely reinvented for theMCU, and the overall design was spectacular. The gladiator style cape, armor, and face paint all worked, and most importantly, a variant of the costume could feature the special helmet. As for the Armored Avenger, Iron Man’s briefcase suit fromIron Man 2would be great to see represented. While the film itself is average, this costume was a great homage to the comics and features a unique chest plate that helps it stand out from other armors the character has worn. His gold-focused Iron Man 3 armor would also make a nice addition.
The King of Wakanda should get some extra love as well, as some fans prefer his original costumefromCaptain America: Civil War. The more simplistic design may have lacked the kinetic energy redistribution that was seen in the standalone film, but it was a sleek costume that made T’Challa look like a force to be reckoned with. The Golden Jaguar suit worn by Killmonger in the film’s final act could also be added. Unfortunately, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow lack more memorable looks to add to the game, as their most recognizable costumes are already available. However, there are still a few more options available to Crystal Dynamics when it comes toMCUsuits.
Ms. Marvel’s Disney+ series is right around the corner, so giving her a costume directly inspired by theMCUshow seems like a no-brainer. However, even more exciting isSpider-Man’sMarvel’s Avengersdebut. While there are countless comic-inspired outfits that Crystal Dynamics could adapt, theMCU’s take on the wall-crawler has several costumes that can be brought to the game. From the Homemade suit and the Iron Spider to the Integrated Suit fromNo Way Home, Spidey is proof that a lot moreMCUsuits should be added to the game.
Marvel’s Avengersis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
