Elden Ringfans haven’t been the most patient, it’s true. But they’ve also been very positive even after a global pandemic led to From Software not sharing news about the RPG for over a year. Heading into E3 2021, it seemed likelyElden Ringwould once again miss the summer’s biggest reveal events. But something’s changed. Rumors aboutElden Ringappearing at the Summer Game Fest have been swirling, and with just so many hours left to the show, Geoff Keighley has poured gasoline on the fire.

With around three hours left before theSummer Game Fest Kickoff Live show, host and producer Geoff Keighley dropped a cryptic tweet. The text of the post reads, “I’ve been waiting a long time for this one.” The photo attached shows Keighley standing in front of a screen showing the Summer Game Fest logo with his head blocking every letter except, “ER.” Needless to say, Keighley hinting at a game he’s been waiting for with a carefully chosen photograph showing “ER” has madeElden Ringfans very excited.

Keighley did notably delete the post from Twitter quickly thereafter. However, he did follow that up by posting the same image on the official Summer Game Fest account. It had the comment about waiting removed, however.Elden Ringfansstill took it as a teaser, even if it was somewhat more subtle of one. The fact that Keighley posted a more straightforward teaser and then removed only contributed toElden Ringfans' belief that there was more to it than meets the eye.

To be absolutely clear, Keighley would know what he’s doing. Wednesday night, Keighley even liked a Twitter post from the EldenRingUpdate Twitter account that said Keighley would be “deliveringElden Ringtomorrow.” He’s a huge video game fan and he knows what games fans do and don’t want to see during his shows. That said,Keighley’s also more than capable of doing this purely to troll people.

The good news is thatElden Ringfans don’t have long to find out the truth. The Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live show begins shortly, soElden Ringfans will be able to watch and find out for themselves if the RPG makes an appearance. Hopefully, by the end of thetwo-hour-long show, both Keighley andElden Ringfans will be happy with the results.

The Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live show airs Thursday at 11:00 am PT/2:00pm ET and is expected to be around two hours long.Over 30 games are confirmed to be featured, including over a dozen world premieres.Elden Ringmay or may not be one of them.

Elden Ringis currently in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
