Elden Ringis purposely a difficult game. Like FromSoftware’s other action-RPGs, every enemy from the lowliest zombie to the most powerful dragon is designed to be capable of killing the player. If a gamer is unprepared while roaming around the Lands Between, they can find themselves facing the screen telling them they died over and over again until they master the combat and systems ofElden Ring. While some revel in the challenge of FromSoftware’s difficulty, others prefer a more chilled gaming experience, and have sought ways to giveElden Ringan easy mode.
One modder, known as Hotbite on Nexus Mods, has given players a new way to make the game a lot easier for themselves. Hotbite has integrated the moves of Sword Saint Isshin intoElden Ring. For those who don’t know,Sword Saint Isshin is the final boss inSekiro: Shadows Die Twice. For many players, he is the game’s toughest opponent, acting as a final exam for those who have diligently studied the mechanics ofSekiro’scombat.

InSekiro, Isshin wields a sword that can send slices of wind at the player from range, a spear that deals devastating damage, and even a gun that fires multiple shots in quick succession. These attacks can each be used by the player inElden Ring, should they download Hotbite’s mod. However, they can’t instantly gain the power of Sword Saint Isshin. To make the mod work, anElden Ringplayer has to equip the Nagakiba, heavy crossbow, and pike in the order specified by the modder in order for the Tarnished to adopt Isshin’s moveset.
Gaining a pike and heavy crossbow shouldn’t prove too tricky for anElden Ringplayer, but what might take a bit of time is getting the Nagakiba. The Nagakiba katana is an item linked toBloody Finger Hunter Yura’s questline inElden Ring, and will only be dropped when the player has reached the Altus Plateau. For anyone wanting to get overpowered early in the game, this mod won’t allow players to reach their true sword-wielding potential until they’ve progressed about halfway throughElden Ring.
Once the Nagakiba, pike, and heavy crossbow are all collected, then the real fun begins as anElden Ringplayer will have access to combos with the sword and spear, alongside some devastating sweeping attacks that do plenty of damage to groups and single enemies. For anyone wanting toconnectElden RingandSekiroeven further, another mod adds the deflection mechanics and sword clashes from the latter game as well.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
