More freeBattlefieldis here. EA has been providing freeBattlefieldcontent lately, and the most recent example is DLC for bothBattlefield 4andBattlefield 1. The downloadable content can be claimed now for a limited time, soBattlefieldplayers will want to take advantage quickly.
Last month,EA gave away a freeBattlefield 4expansion for free, which included multiple maps and weapons. This time EA is doubling the fun with content for twoBattlefieldgames. This should certainly help alleviate some of the disappointment from fans of the series consideringBattlefield 2042was just officially delayed.

TheBattlefield 4Naval Strike DLCis one part of the free pieces of content that is now available. The DLC allows players to battle it out on maps across the South China Sea. The intention of the levels is very much designed around water-based combat. Meanwhile, Naval Strike also adds five new weapons to the mix and even a hovercraft to scoot across the waterways.
The other free content that can be claimed is theBattlefield 1Turning Tides DLC. Also based on water warfare– as the name suggests–the beachfront onslaughts and naval conflicts in this DLC provide a new twist toBattlefield 1combat. Both pieces of DLC can be searched and downloaded in the Xbox or PlayStation stores in-console or via the Microsoft/PlayStation website. The deal appears to only be available for the next three days. However, once claimed and downloaded, the content is available to enjoy forever.
The free expansions for Xbox players is specifically a nice deal becauseBattlefield 4andBattlefield 1are both free with EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It is entirely possible for Xbox players to enjoy theBattlefieldcontent for entirely free, including the base games and the expansions. The value of Xbox and of Xbox Game Pass continues to grow.
For now, these free games and downloadable content may hold fans over untilBattlefield 2042. It certainly is a bit of a disappointment that the game was pushed out of October and now has a November 19 release date, but the hope is that the game will be all the better for it. Still, many fans have reservations about the title. ThisBattlefieldis set up to be somewhat of a live service game, it will come without a single-player experience, and there are rumors of a battle royale at some point.Battlefield 2042and its futuristic setting could change up the formula in major ways, butBattlefield 4andBattlefield 1are still here for players who enjoy the classic gameplay as well.
Battlefield 1and4are out now for PC, PS4, PS3, and Xbox.
