The big announcement of Gamescom ONL, however, isThe Ancient Gods, Part One’s release date.Doom Eternalplayers can pick up the DLC starting October 20.

A new trailer forThe Ancient Gods, Part Onewas also released alongside the new announcement.  It shows off a ton of new content from the expansion, including new levels, new enemies, new NPCs, and hints of the DLC’s bigger story. Combat-wise, however, id makes clear thatThe Ancient Godsis going to deliver more of that adrenaline-fueled action thatDoom Eternalplayerscrave. The Doom Slayer is going to punch and shoot their way through whatever enemies stand in their way. id’s previously indicated that there won’t be any new weapons in the DLC given the amount of work that is involved and had it messes with balance, but it’s clear no new weapons are needed to create new action sequences.

Two new enemies shown in the trailer are theMakyr Angel, the red and winged creature that appears to go invulnerable, and a blue angel that’s able to possess others. The blue angel possesses both a human corpse as well as a demon corpse, and when those corpses are destroyed it escapes and has to be killed separately. Funnily enough, the teaser trailer doesn’t end with a new enemy, but rather an old one. Two Reavers are shown attacking the player at the same time, whichDoom Eternalfans are likely already not looking forward to.
