Digimon Survivecertainly has its flaws, but the way that it handles battle progression really isn’t one of them. As players make their way through the main story, they’ll gain the ability toDigivolve their Digimon, creating a brand-new layer of strategy to an already well-realized battle system. Better still, players will later get a chance to befriend some of these Digivolutions in Free Battles, eliminating the need to Digivolve mid-battle entirely.

EvenDigimon Surviveplayers who are completely new to the franchise should recognize Diatrymon due to it being the second stage Digivolution of Minori’s Falcomon and featuring prominently in the game’s marketing materials. Players will first see the aforementioned evolution about halfway through Part 2, but they won’t actually be able to befriend a non-partner Diatrymon of their own until a little late on in the game.
How to Befriend Diatrymon in Digimon Survive
Befriending Diatrymon is more or less the same asbefriending any other Digimon inDigimon Survive. Players will need to talk to it during a Free Battle or random encounter and then respond to three of its questions or statements in a way that it finds pleasing. The best possible responses will score the player two points, with three or more points needed to be able to ask Diatrymon to become friends when the conversation ends.
Among others,Diatrymon shares a question set with Meramon, though its responses are a lot more subdued than the iconic flame type Digimon. It appreciates those who respect its immense power and often responds well to like-minded individuals who agree with what it says. Where to Find Diatrymon in Digimon Survive
Players can first befriend Diatrymon in Part 4 of the main story, with the ancient bird showing up at the Free Battle area of the amusement park. This isn’t the only Champion Digimon that players can recruit at this location, though withBirdramon technically being available from a random encounter in the previous part, Diatrymon is arguably the most desirable new Digimon found in the park, at least when it comes to Vaccine type Digimon, anyway.
