Bungie started off by explaining how the current goal of the team was to allow players to customize their play style with the new Artifact Mods. For this, Bungie is introducing new sandbox features called “Elemental Orbs,” inspired by Strand Tangles, which will be created when players defeat enemies with Arc, Solar, and Void weapons.Destiny 2has already introduced Elemental Orbs earlier during Solstice of Heroesevent, where Guardians could create these orbs and collect them to become Empowered, which in turn extended the duration of their Super Ability and granted other benefits as well. However, these Elemental Orbs will be different as players will be able to pick them up and throw them at enemies like, which will Jolt, Scorch, or make them Volatile depending on the type of orb.

Next, Bungie detailed the Artifact Mods coming toDestiny 2Season 22. New additions to the same include Unstoppable Fusion Rifles and Piercing Bowstring, along with Overload Machine Guns as well. A lot of the other mods are based around the newly added Elemental Orbs, however, there isn’t a single Artifact Mod for the Stasis subclass. Bungie also revealed that a bug is currently preventing Overload Machine Gun and Hand Cannon mods from overcharging the weapons, which will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

Aside from this,Destiny 2Season 22 is also introducing an Exotic Mission Rotator, which will see the return of some fan-favorite Exotic missions that were lost due to content vaulting. Additionally, Bungie will also shake up the in-game economy in Season 22, and will introduce new weapons as well. A reprised raid, which is rumored to be Crota’s End, is also arriving with Season 22 and will launch on August 04, 2025.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
