ADestiny 2player manged to kill a fellow Guardian using the Navigator Exotic Trace Rifle in open-world exploration in non-PvP settings. The Exotic weapon is obtained via theGhosts of the Deep dungeon inDestiny 2which was launched with Season 21.

Gettingthe Navigator inDestiny 2can be quite the task with several players complaining that its drop rate is very low. On the other hand, the lucky players who managed to get it are very happy as this Strand Exotic gives the user and allies Woven Mail when the wielder shoots it at teammates. Additionally, sustained fire at enemies also applies Sever effects to them, making it a potent weapon in both PvP and PvE activities. However, it seems that a bug is allowing players to kill fellow guardians using the Navigator if fired upon for a sustained period outside PvP.

REALTED:Destiny 2 Players Point Out Missed Opportunity for the Farm

In a post on theDestiny 2subreddit, user MaximusRight posted a video showing the “other effects” the Exotic has on teammates. In the video, they appeared to be at the Nimbus vendor location on Neomuna where they fired the weapon at a random Guardian in their vicinity which triggered the Woven Mail perk. However, when they switched their focus to a neighboring Guardian who was interacting with the vendor, the weapon’s sustained fire ended up killing them.

The community found it hilarious that the weapon could kill fellow Guardians in non-PvP settings as well. Although, user Ze_Awesome_Hobo commented that this might not be a bug at all as players were reportedly capable of doing this inDestiny 1as well where “you used to be able to damage or kill other players in PvE by loading into a new zone.” If true, then this might not even been on Bungie’s list of problems to fix considering it has been around since the previous game and will most likely not be a big issue. However, if this is indeed a bug, it could disrupt endgame activities like Grandmaster Nightfalls orTrials of Osiris inDestiny 2, which would eventually lead to players being frustrated.

This also wouldn’t be the first time an Exotic weapon bug has been discovered in the game. For instance, theWinterbite Exotic glaive that launched withDestiny 2’sLightfallDLCwas bugged to the point where it melted bosses in endgame content almost instantly. When talking about broken weapons in the game, Telesto cannot be left out as it is perhaps the most bugged weapon inDestiny 2history. It has broken the game so many times that it is hard to keep count, and it was reportedly bugged again after last week’s update as well. Thankfully, Bungie has always been proactive in fixing these bugs and the Navigator most likely will get the same treatment after some further investigation into the matter.

Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
