The first Iron Banner ofDestiny 2Season of Arrivalsis here and it brings reprised weapons, two of which have been given random rolls for the first time since their debut. There is yet again a quest that must be completed if players want to get their hands on the new weapons, the emblem, and the shader.
For years inDestiny 2, every season’s Iron Banner has had a one-time quest to unlock gear unique to that season. The quests have changed over time but until now, they were decently lengthy and had multiple parts to them. There’s only one step to it now, which makes it a lot easier to gauge how long it will take to finish.

Season of Arrivalsmassively simplified the Iron Banner pursuit, only requiring kills and making players use just two weapon archetypes instead of four. New with this season areThe Forward Path auto rifle and The Fool’s Remedy sidearm.
25 auto rifle final blows and 25 sidearm final blows are needed to finish the pursuit. Precision kills grant more progress, thus it might be beneficial to some to play it safer and pick target smartly. Precision final blows could be tough with sidearms since it is harder to track targets when in close quarters.
A loadout consisting of one sidearm and one auto rifle is actually not a bad one. But going all in on one part of the quest is also possible. Sidearms especially are good clean up tools and can be easily paired with a high damage dealing ability/weapon to prime a target to be finished off by said sidearm. For instance, Titans can use Death from Above to charge into enemies, put them at critical health, and finish off with the sidearm while up close.
Auto rifles are still top tier in the current sandbox so this part of the quest shouldn’t be that painful. Good candidates include theGnawing Hunger from the Umbral Engrams, Galliard-42 XN7568 from the Black Armory forges, and The Summoner fromTrials of Osiris. The exotic Suros Regime is great as well and even has a catalyst which requires crucible kills so it is possible to kill two wolves with one stone by using this gun. Monte Carlo is also an excellent feeling rifle and synergizes with melee abilities such as the previously listed Death from Above.
As far as sidearms go, burst firing ones are one of the more popular kind. For example, Last Hope from the world engrams, and Breachlight from Umbral Engrams are good choices. On the other hand, Suros-made sidearms intrinsically come with full auto firing and could be more pleasant to use. If players' exotic slot isn’t occupied and they don’t feel comfortable with a sidearm,Devil’s Ruin is greatbecause its alternate fire mode can quickly secure a kill.
Lastly, some important notes. Once the quest is done, it counts for all characters. So, make sure to grab the quest on all characters before completing it because once it is completed, its rewards will be given to all characters who had the quest. But if it wasn’t in a character’s quest log, the quest will simply disappear for them in Saladin’s inventory. Different rolls of the new guns can be farmed by turning in token to Saladin. However, for the first time, it is possible to turn in tokens before completing the quest. If the quest is not progressing, a restart of the game is a temporary fix.
Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
