The Destiny franchise is no stranger to bugs and exploits andDestiny 2in particular has had its fair share of memorable ones. Bungie has even acknowledged some of the bigger ones by gifting players emblems for playing through them such as thePrometheus Lens mega damage weekend. While Bungie has informed players of known issues before Season of Dawn kicked off, but more than a few have cropped up in the meantime. Ironically enough, the Sundial, which many have been calling Menagerie lite, has an interesting new exploit itself.
The latestDestiny 2tip comes from the YouTuber Cheese Forever via the community’s sub-Reddit. To start off, players need to complete a run of the new Sundial activity on Mercury. After finishing the boss, the rewards screen appears for players who have linked an obelisk, letting them select a weapon. What the game doesn’t tell players is that after making a selection, two copies are added to the inventory, one that is visible and one that only appears within the infusion screen.

What’s interesting is that the infusion only weapon, doesn’t have any perks associated with it like the normal version of the gun. When looking at the infusion menu, players will see two copies of the same gun, so technically, players can simply use the non-perk version to infuse other weapons while keeping the better version of the weapon. This behavior happenseach time the Sundial activity is completed, giving players nearly limitless infusion fodder as well as resources for dismantling the other weapon as well.
It’ll be interesting to see how Bungie reacts to this as it doesn’t seem to be intentional. It’s certainly no where near as blatant asthe original Menagerie glitchwhere players were able to continually reset the final chest after taking out the boss. Naturally, this allowed people to continually farm special weapons much faster than Bungie intended, so the glitch was patched out faster than normal.
While players can’t keep farming new Sundial weapons in this case, it does provide a pretty consistent way to upgrade weapons, obtain materials, and push the player’s power levels higher, faster. The catch here is that even though there are two weapons, players will still need to ensure they have Upgrade Modules to spend first. Either way, considering that there’s another bug that turns the Wish-Ender bowinto a devastating world ender weapon, Bungie likely has its attention elsewhere for the time being.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
