The Stranger’s Rifle returns inDestiny 2as Elsie’s Rifle, one of the 12 guns in the BRAVE arsenal of weapons added in the Into The Light update. It’s easily one of the best Legendary Aggressive Pulse Rifle’s in the game currently due to its impressive base stats and solid perk pool, rivaling even the current iteration of the Messenger from Trials of Osiris.

With the list of traits available to Elsie’s Rifle, it’s hard to go wrong with any roll you get. However, if you want to bring the best when taking on the hardest ofcontent likeDestiny 2’sraidsand GM Nightfalls, or if you want to stay competitive in the Crucible, you’ll want to bring the best perk combinations you’re able to get from this weapon.

Elsie’s Rifle with a random roll in Destiny 2

Before diving into the rolls, it’s worth noting that Elsie’s Rifle comes with a very impressive stat package. Its base Handling is very high for an Aggressive Frame Pulse Rifle, and its reload stat of 60 means that, by default, players will only have a 1.7 second downtime between magazines. The base Range and Stability on Elsie’s Rifle are excellent as well, giving this weapon some more leeway when it comes to what perks it can comfortably take.

WIth that being said, we highly recommend usingExtended Magand aReload Speed Masterworkon this weapon for PvE. The extra rounds will come in handy during add-heavy encounters, especially in modes likeDestiny 2’sOnslaughtwhere the enemies just keep coming. Then, try getting a rifle with any of the two perk combos listed above.

The classicRepulsor Brace/Destabilizing Roundscombo will make Elsie’s Rifle perfect for Void builds. These perks will help you clear groups faster while giving you some extra survivability. As far as PvP is concerned, any roll with eitherZen MomentorHeadseekerwill do nicely. Having both on the same gun will skyrocket your dueling potential — Zen Moment mitigates flinch, while Headseeker makes your shots magnetize towards the heads of your enemies if you ever hit a stray body shot. These kinds of consistency perks are top-tier when it comes tocompeting inDestiny 2’sCrucible.

Aggressive Frame Pulse Rifles will always kill other Guardians in two bursts if all the bullets hit the head. Damage perks like Kill Clip and Desperate Measures won’t make this weapon kill faster, though they will make it more forgiving by making body shots deadlier.
