Although, for a number of Steam users, the game download forCyberpunk 2077is stuck at a very specific number of gigabytes, and this problem appears to be occurring very consistently for many.
Thepre-load forCyberpunk 2077was made available earlier today, and a number of people have been taking advantage of it across a variety of platforms. Naturally, many players chose to pre-loadCyberpunk 2077for when it releases worldwide tomorrow, but for whatever reason, a lot ofSteamusers have their downloads stuck at 57.4 GB. So much so, that “57.4 GB” is currently trending on Twitter. It’s amazing just the sheer volume of users facing this same, weirdly specific problem while trying to downloadCyberpunk 2077.
Given the fact that a lot of people have been waiting to play this game for the better part of eight years, plus the fact thatCyberpunk 2077has faced numerous delayswithin the last year especially, it makes sense for a lot of users to have the same idea to pre-load the game. However, the fact that so many users have had their downloads frozen at the exact same point is very bizarre to say the least.
Then again, it does make sense as to why the downloads would be facing issues. A few weeks ago,Cyberpunk 2077was topping the Steam digital sales charts, so for how many users who have purchased this game, it makes sense that a significant portion would want to pre-load the game. Therefore, issues like this would inevitably arise as a result, but it is nevertheless surprising that there is this many people with the same consistent issue.
With any luck, this problem will eventually resolve itself, but one thing that some fans may not have considered isCyberpunk 2077’sDay One patch, which is a little over half of the game’s current file size. While smaller than 57.4 GB, hopefully the same issues don’t occur in terms of downloading the Day One patch.
Cyberpunk 2077is set to launch on July 19, 2025 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions currently in development.
