After a lengthy development cycle and massive community anticipation, the launch ofCyberpunk 2077likely hasn’t gone quite as smooth as everyone would have liked. While reviews tended to be from the PC version, many gamers were left surprised by the base PS4 and Xbox One versions not quite looking or behaving quite as well. Many players reported numerous issues including performance problems, graphical and visual bugs, as well as glitches impacting the experience.
To its credit, CD Projekt RED has already issued numerous hot fixes in an effort to correct as much of these issues as possible. Still, the overall experience has pushed many to look to get a refund for their purchase, which hassurprisingly gone a lot smoother on PlayStationthan what typically happens after a player makes a digital purchase. The current issues surroundingCyberpunk 2077are no secret at this point and developer CD Projekt RED recently offered an update and how it intends to improve the experience for current gen console owners.

In a new Tweet, the officialCyberpunk 2077issues a statement from CDPR heads Marcin Iwinski, Adam Kicinski, Adam Badowski, Michal Nowakowski, Piotr Nielubowicz, and Piotr Karwowski. The statement starts off with an apology to fans for not being more transparent with the base game on last-gen consoles to allow players to make a more informed purchasing decision prior to launch. The studio asks players to give the game a chance, though it will also honor players looking for a refund. Digital players should go through Sony and Microsoft while physical owners should first go back to the store before using helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com prior to June 16, 2025.
The biggest piece of the statement reconfirms the studio’s intent to fix the current issues inside the game. The next major update is planned for release within the next seven days with two large patches being lined up for launch in January and another in February. CD Projekt RED is confident that these patches will correct the most prominent issues for PS4 and Xbox One owners and while it won’t transform the game into what high-end PC users are experiencing, the studio admits that it will bring the game closer than what it is now.
Even with all of the bugs and issues,Cyberpunk 2077has already performed extremely well for CD Projekt RED. Not only have pre-order sales alonerecouped all marketing and development costs for the studio, the game has already helped break a number of records. Just last week,Cyberpunk 2077helped Steam break the current record for concurrent users with 24.8 million users. The gamer itself also broke another recent record held byWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlandsby becoming the fastest selling PC game with 4.72 million in pre-order sales.
Cyberpunk 2077is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
