Not long ago, Capcom was floundering somewhat for big titles beyondMonster Hunter. In recent years however, several Capcom series have risen to glory once more, with newResident Eviltitles leading toawesome cosplay momentsand other expressions of love from fans.

At the helm of several recentResident Evilsuccesses, includingResident Evil 7andResident Evil Village, was Peter Fabiano. As the producer of several ofCapcom’s recent hits and an important member of the company before that, Fabiano has brought several wins to Capcom. Now, however, he is moving on to a different company.

Fabiano announced on Twitter that he has left Capcom and is now a producer at Bungie, thanking his coworkers at Capcom and announcing his anticipation to begin working at the studio behindDestiny. This change comes on the heels of major success for the producer inResident Evil Village’s excellent reception by most players. Thesuccess ofVillagebodes well for future Capcom products, so Fabiano’s change of company comes as a bit of a surprise, and the reason behind it is currently unknown. As of this writing, it is not known if Fabiano is producing any new projects, or was brought on solely to contribute toDestiny 2.

For most of his tenure at Capcom, Fabiano was part of the localization team. He helped localize multiple titles, includingMega Man 11,Resident Evil 5, and theMega Man Zero Collection. His most prominent achievement may well beResident Evil 7, where he was the senior manager overseeing the project. He was also producer onDevil May Cry 5, a game that revived a series many considered permanently dormant. It did so well in fact thatDevil May Cry 5’s director teased the next game in the franchiseand fans once more have hope for Dante in his own series and, maybe, for crossovers.

Fabiano certainly seems to have a magic touch when it comes to the games bearing his name, clearly something that Bungie wanted a part of. What exactly he will work on is not yet clear, butDestiny 2is a very safe guess. Seeing asplayers are suggesting ways to fix aspects ofDestiny 2, it can definitely use as much love as possible.

Of course, that’s not to say the game is struggling, far from it. DespiteDestiny 2needing some new mapsand probably some balance to its newer systems, it continues to be a vast and ambitious project. Hopefully Fabiano’s contributions, whatsoever they may be, will help it to become an even better game.
