The Faewilds and all the realms within them pose grave dangers to weary Realmwalkers, but that won’t stopNightingaleplayers from taking on all the Bound’s challenges alone. Even a lone survivor can make their way back home, and there are plenty of ways to do so.

Likemany other survival games,Nightingaleoffers tons of options on how players can enjoy their experience. Even lone wolves can get a kick out of Inflexion Games' first major release, though there are some things you might want to know before you enter your first Fae portal.

Can You Play Nightingale Solo?

Yes,Nightingalecan befully experienced alone. However, the game requires you toalways have an internet connection, even if you’re a solo player or are unwillingly alone in your own randomly-generated world.

After you create your first character, you’ll have to go through a quick tutorial segment where the friendly Fae Puck teaches you the ropes of survival. After that, you’ll be mostly left alone in a randomized Realm of your choosing, where you’ll learn the rest of the game’s basic crafting and progression systems. You caninvite friends to your worldor list your session up to the public by accessing theParty and Social menu.

Later on, you’ll eventually reach asocial hubwhere Realmwalkers from all over the world converge. Here, you can make friends with other players and tackle the game’s harder challenges together. Interactions between players still remains optional, and it’s up to you if you want to be a frequent visitor of this social hub or just another passerby.

Multiplayer aside,Nightingaleis quite friendly to solo players. While some content can be difficult for a lone Realmwalker, it’s completely possible to finish everything the game has to offer without the help of other players. However, if things are a bit too rough, you can always get an NPC companion to help with combat or make resource gathering a little less tedious.

The current state ofNightingale’sNPC companions is a little rough. They’re useful in a fight, but don’t expect them to perform like an actual human player would. They do, however, make for excellent distractions, especially in hectic fights where large groups of enemies are swarming you. Outside of battle, they can potentially destroy your base or get you killed if they decide to chop down trees willy-nilly.

According to Inflexion Games' CEO,Nightingalewill take player feedback to heart. It’s possible that if the demand for an offline mode is high enough, the game might get a full offline-only option for players who can’t always rely on a steady and fast internet connection.
